Traded the 2014 for a 2016
My wife thinks I am crazy, but I just traded my 2014 Z-51 for a 2016 Z-51. The local dealer really wanted to sell the 2016 since it just celebrated it's 1 year birthday on the lot. The dealer discounted the 2016 by 24% and gave me Kelly Blue Book trade in for my car ($43K) so the final cost was $8500 ($10,100 - $1600 in GM points). The new car is similar to my old car (Torch Red, M7) with the exception that it has a black interior instead of a red interior. The 2016 has $3000 more options than my 2014 and the dealer is switching tops (I am keeping my transparent top and wheels for me (dealer is remounting 2016 tires on my chrome wheels).

Sounds like you got a good deal on the new car.

That's a great deal. How many miles on the old one? Does your 3k number include the transparent top you got to keep? Either way only $8500 to drive for 2 years plus you got the sales tax wash. Most of us lost that much driving in it off the lot.

My old car had 12K miles on it. The 3K in options were for NPP (NPP was an option for the Z-51 in 2014 and my car didn't have it), PDR (my car had navigation but no PDR), carbon flash badges, painted vents, and battery protection charger. The 2016 had the solid roof and black wheels. I really dislike the red painted vents. The dealer is switching out the rear light surrounds and the hood vents for me so I can have the carbon flash color. I didn't ask to have the fender vents or rear quarter vents changed over although I may ask to see if the dealer is willing to make the change.

I like the red interior better than the black (my last 3 sports cars had red interiors), but I can live with the black interior and I really wanted the NPP exhaust (I have no idea why the dealer ordered a Z-51 without the NPP exhaust).

I dropped off my 2014 at the dealer and completed the transaction today. I have attached pictures of the cars as the vents are being switched. The pictures show the difference in the look between standard and painted vents. It was nice of the dealer to switch out the vents and wheels because it took a fair amount of time (The oil cooler had to be removed since it blocked the front passenger side fender vent screws and 8 tires had to be dismounted/remounted and balanced). When everything is done I get to keep my transparent top (I had the sides painted red to look like the carbon fiber top), my chrome wheels and all my vents except the rear quarter panel vents (would require alot of labor to switch).
