My 2015 Z51 Stingray is in for scheduled service at Stingray Chevrolet in Plant City and I have a 2016 Z06 loaner. Along with the scheduled maintenance they will be looking at my transmission due to intermittent hard shifts from park to reverse...my car had its A8 transmission replaced at 7000 miles, it now has 20000 miles. I have to say the Z06 is a whole different beast from the Z51. Just for the hell of it I test drove a 2017 911 Carrera 4S in order to have a real time comparison between the three cars and was surprisingly unimpressed. I expected the Carrera to drive much better and I am used to Porsche because my wife drives a Cayenne. These C7s have their issues from time to time but in my opinion they're one of the most fun cars to drive today. I highly recommend to anyone who has never driven a Z06...go drive one now because you have no idea what you're missing!
I was fortunate enough to take a Z06 for a test ride. I know exactly what you mean, the car is a beast. I know the power my 2015 Vert has but when I jumped on the Z06 I could not believe the power, although the tires were struggling with the sudden 1st gear acceleration. It is an awesome machine one that may be my next purchase.
....because so many of the used C7's for sale are Z06's; are they becoming a bit much, a bit difficult to "relax" in for many buyers who are of the age/financial where with all to own such a beast? I have enough fun managing 450 hp and a 7 sp manual, hats off to those who can wield them so comfortably......along my Vette journey (C5, C6 and C7) I have test driven Z's and, as tempting as they are I have not found the numbers game to be enough to make me comfortable enough to take the plunge....and at (almost) 62 I doubt I ever will......

Sting Chevy knows exactly what they did. They are tempting you with Forced Induction to hopefully trade up! So is it working? Are you thinking about it?!

I've driven multiple C7's since they came out (few friends have/had them). I've also driven a Z06... when I decided I was upgrading from my 08 to a C7. I first looked at Z51's but was quickly presented with GS and I was in love (and recalling my driving experience in that Z06). Then the discounts came out for the 2016's and I couldn't turn mine down. A loaded 3LZ with design pacage almost 97k msrp for under 79k? Yeah it was 20k more than the Z51 but after I calculated the cost of "mods" to my Z51 I realized I was within 10k of the Z06 and I would own a Z06!
YES, IT WORKS. LOL you drive one you want it. That simple..
the Corvette is the best sportscar in the world imo.
the Z06 is a Supercar. Which is the Corvette x2
Driven the Z and purchased the GS. The Z is just on another level power wise. For me the corvette is a fun car to drive around when im not driving my company vehicle....and for that type of car i dont want something that would be mentally exhausting. I want to be able to make a mistake with too much throttle and not worry about killing myself. More power to the Z owners, you have a hell of a vehicle, but just not something im personally interested in.
The one time I got a loaner from Stingray, it was crappy base model Impala with the 1.5L engine with start/stop. Only had 27 miles on it but it smelled like ammonia inside. Believe I'll be pushing for the Z06 loaner next time!!!
I get all my service done at Stingray Chevy. I have had loaners at least 5 different times and was never offered a Z06. They usually give me a pick of what they have available. I have everything from a Volt to a brand new Silverado. I would love a Z06 loaner.
