Cracked Windshield - replaced, pic
Greetings,
My C7 (Shark Gray, Z51) has a crack on the passenger side front windshield near the top (please see pic below). It appears as if the crack is either on the inside or "in the middle" of the glass. It has not protruded through to the outside. In other words, you can run your fingernail over the crack and NOT detect anything. The crack cannot be felt from the inside because of the padding near the top.
Went to the dealer last week and it was agreed that it was a manufacturing or installation problem and will be replaced. They ordered a new windshield and it should be replaced within a week or so.
Other than that...a great car to drive...love every second.

Had the same exact issue, but the crack was on the driver's side. GM refused to change the windshield for 2 reasons:
1. They claimed it was a chip crack (even though there was no external damage)
2. Windshield was no longer under warranty (1 year coverage only!!!)
Eventually they folded after numerous complaints.

Good luck, I have the same problem. Going on third replacement due to defective glass.
BE SURE you look through the glass keeping an eye out for blurry/ distorted in your line of sight.

Exactly when did this happen? '14?
C7 has had a delamination issue w/ some cars since first '14s.
Supplier issue? Probably. [confused2]
FWIW C7 members here reported replacement done under warranty when it happened, no questions asked.

I had the same problem with my '14, only in a different spot. The local dealership had a lot of questions and worked with GM to get it replaced. Dealership and GM both stepped up to fix the problem and did a nice job on the replacement, the HUD is sharp and crisp!
