No offense, but why is it that only "older" gents drive C7's?

Off course the GS/Z06 would be much more
Well and also remember we're comparing a fully-optioned GT vs a 1LT no options Vette.

The few people I know that had new Corvettes way back when they were in their 20's and 30's all have one thing in common. No kids!!!.

Because the vast majority of Americans can't afford a 50K+ car until an older age. Not to mention practicality for most.

True, but one thing to also keep in mind is that, even the base 1 LT is very nicely equipped which includes
- Standard leather seats
- Standard leather trim
- High quality interior over all.
- Bose Audio (way better than Mustangs Premium sound package)

You add the premium package for the Mustang GT, to get the above and it's still not quite as premium feeling. The only thing my base 1 LT is missing that was in the "Premium package" GT I had before is the heated/cooled seats. The rest is pretty much the same if not better.

Corvette Clubs are rather boring IMO. I'm pretty much the only the person who has gone the extra mile in modifying while everybody else is content with freshly waxed stock cars. Not my cup of tea!

When I got my C5 some years back I went to a few meetings of a local club. All they talked about were cruise-ins, parades and luncheons. Super-nice people, but not my kind of club at all.

1LT is missing the heads-up display (a personal "must have" for me) in addition to the bolded in your post and couple of other items. I went 2LT since it has everything I typically want in a Vette and none of the stuff I didn't want.

Had the same experience with two different Corvette clubs. One in Killeen, TX and one in Bel Air, MD. I'm not a modder by any stretch of the imagination, but the stuff Corvette clubs typically do gets old after a short time.

I was only comparing the premium package on the Mustang GT vs 1 LT

but I agree the 2 LT is a sweet spot for a lot of people. I sort of miss having the heated/cooled seats and a HUD would've been really nice!

I know you were comparing the Mustang GT (loaded) vs a 1LT Stingray, but I thought I'd add to your excellent post

I agree, I think the 2LT is the sweet spot. Unless you are hitting the track or buying a Z06 for the power, there's just a lot of superfluous options in the other packages above 2LT that I personally would never use. I couldn't go without the heated/cooled seats either. I use them often!
