What is the point of GMS pricing?

Agreed. I qualify for GMS but picked up a 20% off deal. Wish it was like the old days when you could double dip. I bought a fully loaded 1996 ZL1 pickup for $28K. Drove it for 6 mos and 10K miles and sold it for $32K.

I also wish they would let you double dip. Using Bonus Tag instead of rebate wording hurts. I bought 2014 GMC Serria got GMS and Rebates and Auto show and if I'm correct GM loyalty also .Seems using the words Bonus Tag removes GMS combo.

When I bought mine the best dealer 'deal' was $1000 off sticker. GMS was YUGE in comparison. Now, not so much as we are out of driving season the production / stock of cars is over capacity to demand.

I even came across a Savannah dealer that didn't honor GMS. I guess its "optional to each dealer".
I decided not to argue and just walked out and up to SC 30 miles away. Still "local".
If you buy locally GMS is a good deal and avoids ALL the annoying negotiation and add on discussions. I believe you still get Loyalty $2K now as well so unless you live near a mega dealer, no tears.
My two cents
