I KNOW I've seen a spring that can be added to give more "oooomph" to the "push up" when you try and open the trunk or hatch but my search has proved to be futile. Damn...
After my trunk has sat closed for a few days, when I pop it open, it barely comes up. It doesn't come up enough to get my finger under to fully open the trunk. After it is opened and the gasket has time to un-mash, the trunk pops up satisfactorily to where I can get my fingers under and fully open the trunk on succeeding open/close actions.
Anyone got a link to where I can get the stronger spring to push up the trunk to where you can get a finger under the lip and fully open the trunk?
If it does that, just press the hatch down and let go a few times (on cars without the auto-latch, anyway), this will work the rubber so that it un-sticks.

I think the OP is talking about the trunk, not the hatch. Two different things for this question.
The posts on the corners can be tweaked to give more pressure up, but this may also result in more pressure to close (balancing act, here). I occasionally have to back them out to get more upward pressure on my C6; I haven't had to do this yet on my '14, but it's bound to need it eventually.
I'm talking trunk, as in convertible trunk. A hatch is on the coupe and the hatch has a big hunk of glass in it.
When I open the trunk, it barely pops up and the gap is too small to get a finger under the lip to raise the trunk.
I just hit the gasket with silicone and I need to let the trunk sit for a few days to get the seal mashed down. After that, I'll try and open it and see if the silicone helped with the lid being able to pop up enough to slip a finger under the lip to completely open the trunk.
