I've gone from a follower of CR, to indifference, to an absolute hater.
I was about to say the same thing. I remember the Forum ripping apart Consumer Reports when they did a bad report on the C7. Small sample sizes etc.

It's the same in the motorcycle world. BMW and Harley have two of the most loyal customer bases, but they are also two of the worst for reliability. If you think about it, it's not really surprising. But it's also why they sell in smaller numbers. Most of the population wants transportation, not fun when it comes to vehicles.

Hi,
You are 100% correct.
Although some problems may exist the Corvette is designed, assembled, marketed by remarkable men and woman.

Max,

These are apples/oranges, two completely different types of CR surveys. The C7 fares poorly in CR "reliability" surveys, but scores highly in CR "owner satisfaction" surveys.

While it may be counter-intuitive, one survey is about the number of times a car was taken in for a warranty repair," and the other is about how much owners like the car."

The repair data surveys are somewhat unreliable because they are owner self-report and make no distinction as to whether there was a real problem or not. While the satisfaction surveys are also self-report, it doesn't matter because all they measure is how enthusiastic one is about a car. Some of the most beloved cars of all time were perhaps the most unreliable, such as the iconic Jaguar XKE-Type Jaguar, and many legendary Ferraris.

While there may be some correlation, when it comes to sporty, fun cars, emotions often take over. It's not as easy to love a Kia, which has been flawless for 100K miles, but a drop-dead gorgeous Corvette is much easier to love, despite it's occasional headaches.
