Flat bottom provides superior knee clearance and it also looks awesome. I'm a big fan

I can live with it, certainly would not purchase if it was an option. Cosmetic improvement?
Already noticed the same thing, and I only have just over 300 miles on my new GS. I think it looks cool, though, which is probably the main intent.

Like everyone else, I agree that the flat bottom steering wheel helps with sliding in and out of the car. That's a fact because if I have the wheel turned the wrong way, my leg/thigh will hit the steering wheel when I come back into the car and I curse at myself for not straightening out the wheel before I exited lol.

The flat bottom is a joke for your hands/grip. The only time I think it would be useful is if the bottom is completely empty (like in the Merc S500/550). Then you can position your palm anywhere you want without having the divider tell you where to put your hand. In all honesty, I really miss the round wheel where you can actually make fast turns and not lose grip. I just can't seem to master turning the wheel either direction very fast AND still maintain a solid grip on it.

In and not not such a big deal IMHO... with the easy exit turned on. Looks for sure, makes it look sporty and modern.
