Wow- you are quick to make incorrect assumptions without having any facts or personal knowledge of the situation.
All 4 shocks of my shocks were leaking- I had multiple shops verify this.
Time is a factor as well. There have been cases on the XLR where the cars were 9 to 10 years old and had <35k miles- and all 4 MRC shocks were leaking.
If folks are seeing this now on a 2016 Zo6 (as per the original reason of this thread)- just wait until additional miles and time cause more pre-mature failures.
I believe you are comparing a different generation of magnetic shocks to the current generation. In that regard, you are making the assumption about longevity based upon an old XLR. You may be right, but only time will tell.
The pricing is a bit odd on the shocks....you'd think they would be identical.
How many miles did you have to replace your shocks at?
$69 for install was a great price!
70,000 miles. The LR and RR shocks are different with the LR being about $100 more. Installation is real easy if you have a lift. I don't have a lift so I had a tire store that I trust do it.
