Has anyone seen the Spice Red leather interior in person? All I had to go by was the picture on the Chevy site which looks like a nicely muted Adrenaline Red. But I stopped by a dealer today who had color swatches and the spice red was actually a dark brownish burgundy and nothing close to red. The first picture is what the Chevy site shows you and the second picture is closer to the swatch I had seen, but even that looks better than the swatch. I wanted to go with the Spice option as it covered the entire dash, but not looking for a brown leather. Any help? Thanks
I can help you. I have a spice red interior in my Z06. It is definitely not brown. It a darker red than adrenaline red. In direct sunlight, it looks pretty bright, but not as bright as adrenaline red. In the shade, it looks more maroon. Most of the pics I saw were in the sun. Here is some pics in the shade.
I have seen it, and those pics above from actual owners ARE representative. Now, realize if you take it on a gray day, through a tinted window, next to a reflected dark wall or window, it will or could appear brown. As a matter of fact, Rob's second pic thru the windshield could be suggested that it's a brownish color (and that's not a dark wall). But sitting in it, walking up to it, I doubt you'll get the second pic of the one you show in your first post.
Color choice is a big thing tho---so, is there any possibility of going to one of the larger dealers, even if it's on a weekend and a distance away (after calling them, of course, to make sure they have one on their lot or about to be delivered)? Or, if you have Corvette clubs in your area, call them up, ask the prez if there's someone in the club w. a Stingray with that color interior, then go see it.
You really have to see it in person to decide if you like it. I went to Carlisle two years ago just just for that purpose. While I still think Adrenaline is way over the top and too bright and cheapens the look of the interior if it's all red, my personal opinion is the Spice Red is overwhelming dull and boring. I went with two tone adrenaline red and black and I love that combination. To each his own.
.
Thanks guys, you were all a great help in helping from making an expensive mistake. I thought the Spice Red was like a Porsche Lobster Red and not so much brown/burgundy. I wanted to match a Watkins Glen Gray, but now see that the Adrenaline Red is the way to go, although a bit bright. I was trying to avoid the two tone dash as the Spice covered the entire dash. Maybe if I can find a dealer willing to sell one of those Limited Addition GS for the same % discount as the custom ordered GS' I wouldn't mind one of those since I will be getting a two tone dash anyway. Thanks again, you guys are great, Allan

The Spice Red to me is NOT brownish I feel it's a rich Red but not a overpowering red.I'm planning on getting SpiceRed in spring. OP you might want to look at Mike from Criswell last two post of delivery. He had a Watkin Glen grey with Spice Red delivery in one and I thought combo looked great together.

Love that interior and I think looks great with your Shark Grey.
OP you really should try to find car with Spice Red interior and see for your self . It does look a little different in the sun / bright lights and cloudy day etc. I like the adrenaline red but concerned the brightness will grow old over time and I wouldn't like it over the years to come . The GS I will be ordering I will be having for a while. Also if your looking to make your car less common the Spice Red will do that for you. Which ever interior you choose enjoy and don't look back.

Does that spice red dashboard top reflect into the windshield? The reason I ask is because I am going to buy a new Z06 can't find any to look at in my area. I wanted to sit in it see about the reflective. Annoys the hell out of me. I had a car that did that to me one time. Thanks.

Good question ! From the ones I sat in with Spice Red interior I don't remember that catching my eye but I also wasn't looking or thinking about that so I will be interested in seeing what actual owners say.

Generally-speaking if you wear polarized sunglasses in sunny conditions you won't notice dash reflections in the windshield. But if you ever DON'T have them with you on a sunny day, AND the dash is a naturally-reflecting color in the windshield, it could be a problem. I always wear sunglasses on sunny days, so it won't be a problem (I keep a spare in the glovebox).
