^^^ This was my post on "Got the letter" thread:

Well I got my letter today for my 2017 Grand Sport Collectors edition Convertible #28. To say I am very disappointed in GM is an understatement.

I had a similar letter for my 2008 Z06. You would think that in 9 years, they could fix a problem like this. My thought is that GM did not want to redesign this flaw or get a better vendor for the unit that goes in the plastic gas tank. They most likely thought to fix it was more expensive then just to repair the ones that do end up leaking.

I have been a Corvette owner since 1977 and this will be my last one.
I don't know about the rest of you, but why should I have to be concerned as a customer buying a $104K vehicle that I might have a gas tank leak, when they have known about this issue for over 13 years. It started in 2005 and what have they done to correct it, SEND ME ANOTHER LETTER.

Where did you get the rug from and who do the fuse box cover?

Had to have this repair done on my 2008 about 2 years ago. Glad I made it under their 10 year window.

Showstoppers (Pete) did the fuse cover and I got the rug from 3 Sisters Rock - go to thread 1376 on this forum for info.

Default Carbon Fiber Dash Fitment Issue

Maybe I'm just OCD, but has anyone else noticed or had fitment issues with the CF on dash?

I've noticed that around the radio it doesn't fit flush around the entire perimeter of the screen.

Also, top left side of the dash appears to be loose

I'll post pics soon.

Already the dealer is having to replace driver side headlight fixture due to the plastic turning "milky" looking.

May have em to look at the CF too 😕

Here are the pics. Thoughts?

First pic is around the radio where the CF is flush. The other radio pic the CF isn't flush and if you push on it, it will go in and out a little.

The two upper dash pics are self explanatory.

I had to look at this on my computer, doesn't show up well on the little mobile phone view.

The separation above the dash IMHO is something you should take it to the dealer to look at under warranty. That would not be acceptable to me. While its there, have them look at the radio. I haven't compared that part to my car (will later), but it seems like that is not right, but you'll be there for the upper dash they may as well look at that as well.

Default Just added the Jake hood decal

I liked the C7-R Jake hood decal and contacted Mike at Vette Stripes and he provide me one that was a perfect fit for the car. Here are a few pictures.
By the way, Mike is a great Forum vendor.

Looks nice. I saw one before done in blue (it's listed in the index, but here's the link). I'll add yours since it is a different color.

That was mine, but was taken off before I took delivery. It was done for the Barrett Jackson Scottsdale show.

Took it to the dealer yesterday, they are ordering a new replacement CF dash part (it's all one piece apparently). The CF is added to the dash at the factory so just replacing the CF is not an option, have to get the whole dash piece (around the gauges and radio).

They said it could take 2-3 weeks for the part to come in. I'll update once it's done.

Yea I have seen those but Russ was working on custom ones that had the Collector Edition logo on them and in the tension blue color with a black background. They looked really good, I just know he was having some difficulties with the shop.

They removed the blue fender stripes and the center black stripe from this brand new GSCE, looks naked!

If someone looks at this car I'd certainly find out why that was done, would make me a little nervous like something got damaged....

CORRECTION: The center stripe may be there still, hard to tell in the photos....in one it does look like it may still be there.

Also, is anyone interested in swapping out GT seats for competition seats? I will throw in $750.
