I purchased the following item in an effort to protect the screen on the nav unit. There are no instructions on the listing or with the product. It looked pretty straight forward like installing a screen protector on an iPhone or iPad which I've done dozens of times. So I carefully applied the protector and positioned it correctly with no finger prints or issues. The problem is that it is not optically clear and there is no way to apply it without clarity issues.
I contacted the seller because they offered "100% customer satisfaction" and provided pictures to support the issue. He confessed that there should have been instructions and asked if I used water to install the item. I replied that I did NOT use water since this was an electronic item. He then indicated that I installed it wrong even though the listing says nothing and no instructions were included. I was told that it should have been applied with water and squeegeed out on all angles similar to a clear bra installation. My response was WHAT!? Applying water to the screen and brushing it out the bottom and sides would almost certainlycause some damage to the Nav Unit which would not be warranted since I put water on it.
Actual cut/paste from seller listing indicating satisfaction policy which is a LIE:
Corvette Mods wants you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase. We offer one of the most simple, hassle free policies on the internet. A no questions asked guarantee! Clueless vendor and one that does not honor their only listed policy about customer satisfaction.
BTW - I was offered to opportunity to get another ONLY if I left positive feedback first. My response was NOPE, I will simply leave the appropriate feedback and provide my fellow members some guidance on how to avoid scammer sellers on eBay.

I tried the screen protectors also. The problem is that the corvette screen is not glass and not capacitive touch. Hence the screen is a soft plastic the flexs inward when you press on it and it reads the pressure points to know if the screen is touched. Such screens are hard to apply a protector on since it's not a completely smooth surface like glass and the pressing from the touching will aid in creating bubbles over time.
I had my C6 with NAV for 5 years and the OEM screen held up just fine. Same results with the aftermarket ones in other cars. I cleaned it periodically with a microfiber towel and non-ammonia glass cleaner.
It wasn't so much that it didn't work but the fact that he blamed me when there were no instructions and then tried to blackmail me to get a positive review. Just thought I would help others avoid my bad experience.
I think the screen on my Phord F150 is similar to the one in the C7.
I have a similar screen protector on the screen in the truck, and it's REALLY GREAT!! It cuts down on glare and is very easy to clean (but it doesn't need cleaning very often). I put on the truck several years ago, but there were plenty of youtube instructions for installation when I did it on the truck's screen, and it went on perfectly.
I haven't tried one on my C7's screen. I guess I won't bother.
Why would you put a screen protector on the nav screen??
It is nothing like an iphone screen whatsoever, and it doesn't need a protector to boot as the iphone screen protectors are just there to prevent cracking from drops. The nav screen doesn't crack.
AND, even when you do put protectors on iphone screens they do use water.
I would have thought more about this before you even tried using this item. It's totally a product for suckers.
I dunno... if it were me, I would have asked for a refund. If denied, then file a complaint with Paypal. And leave negative feedback. It's all quite simple.
And probably less than $10 - hardly worth getting so worked-up over.
I had a problem with corvettemods when they were a vendor on here. I found their listing on e-bay for the same item they had listed on CF for a lot less. When I inquired why their price was lower on e-bay, they told me that it cost to be a supporting vendor on Corvette Forum that's why the price was higher. Needless to to say I didn't buy from them.

It's not a matter of cost because it's simply not the point. I was trying to offer my experience so that others would at least be aware if they chose not to avoid. Afterall isn't that one of the reasons we have a forum like this??
PS - did ask for a refund but was blackmailed instead. Money is never the issue for me...
I got tired wiping the touchscreen to remove finger prints. So I purchased Tech Armor's Chevy 8-inch TouchScreen Matte Antiglare Screen Protectors (3-Pack).
Easy to install, no bubbles or no adhesion problems. Really resists finger prints!

bought the same product from Amazon. Very satisfied. Doubt I'll ever use more than one.
