My gs with 1200 miles at dealer. Makes a very loud thumping sound when driving. Feels like something is ready to fall off. Happens mostly backing up or making a uturn. Possibly posi or rear. All the time when car is first used backing out of garage, Any ideas/
OP clearly has no idea about corvettes and did not read the manual. So lets make it clear for him. There is nothing wrong with your car. When its cold out (like it is now and most winters) and you have ultra wide tires on any car (like corvettes have) and you are moving slowly forward OR reverse you will experience tire skip or whatever you want to call it. ITS NORMAL!
Sorry to the rest of you, I get irritated seeing the same question asked or mentioned over and over and over again. I'm done now, lol.

Search for Ackermann Effect to learn why the car does this. Here's a link to get you started. Don't worry about asking questions, that's what the forum is for.
To the OP: I'm surprised the service writer at the dealership didn't educate you and send you on your way. Wait, I take it back - not surprised at all, since most service writers know ****-all about Corvettes.
