Default The Decision 2017

It all started when my old brother gave me a copy of Car and Driver with The King of the Hill on it. I've been hooked ever since. After 25 years of dreaming I never actually thought I'd own a Corvette, but after years of saving and hard work, I decided I wanted to be incredibly irresponsible for the first time ever and treat myself.

I reached out to all the forum dealers, Kerbeck and Macmulkin came in with the exact same price. It was a really tough decision, both Dave and Joshua were awesome, very quick to respond (after Dave returned to the office). Very tough decision, I couldn't decide myself, so I left it up to the wife and in laws.

They decided on Atlantic City, I'm pretty surprised, I thought for sure NH/Boston weekend. Though I think they were more concerned about my future car, the trip through NY and Connecticut is pretty rough and the extra 100 miles could be a problem before I get her wrapped locally.

On to the car, I decided I was going to spare no expense (within reason). Last week, before even knowing 100% I was doing this, I contacted John Caravaggio. What an amazing conversation, he's a cool dude...after a bit of chit chat, I ordered his side skirts, stage 2 splitter, and door sills in exposed carbon fiber. John's work is impeccable, I'm so damn excited to receive his carbon fiber parts...I'll probably be sleeping with them for a few weeks.

Oh yeah, the car I ordered! Well, add me to the Arctic White crew, it seems there has been a ton of AW orders this past week.

As for options, of course I've gotta match Caravaggio's awesome Carbon Fiber with GM Carbon Fiber roof! Of course I have bring the Carbon Fiber inside the car, but I didn't want matte because I have to match Caravaggio's door sills, turns out I also love suede so naturally the Jet Suede Design package makes sense as you get the gloss Carbon Fiber interior...stunning stuff plus an awesome suede steering wheel and other 3LZ suede accents! Suede design also comes with the matte black wheels with red stripe...cool stuff

Hell, while I'm at, throw in those gorgeous Competition seats and Carbon Flash side mirrors.

That's about wraps it up! Only thing I would've liked was the Z07 suspension, but obviously that's not available by itself.

As an FYI, my current car is a Mercedes C250 coupe with 201hp, do you think I'll notice the extra 449hp?

If you need a ride from Paramus to kerbeck let me know. I'm retired.....so the trip down wouldn't be a problem most of the days....btw When I picked up my car from kerbeck years back from Dave..I rented an enterprise rent a car...dropped it off at the Atlantic City airport and they picked me up.

I pirschased the car over the phone and the entire process was seamless ...in fact it was after almost 40 years of buying new cars I thought the purchase experience was the best ever...

Best of luck with your new ride...

Never had a notion that I would ever own a new C7. Then one day, it happened. Impulse buying. What owning a Corvette is all about. Congrats. Enjoy the ride.

Why don't you want GM Stage 2? I wouldn't lose too much sleep over driving without a wrap. I drove my C5Z for 18,000 miles and my Stage 2 C7Z for 1,800 miles with no wrap and I've had no issues.

About time Larry!!! Congrats brother. Sounds like an awesome setup and thanks for the write-up. You will love it, and there is a small chance that you will notice the 449hp difference.

Caravaggio is top notch. John's work is pure art and you made the right choice. And Arctic White is an amazing color on a C7Z....although I may be a bit biased. I never once owned or even considered a white car, until I saw a C7Z in AW with black trim. Simply a gorgeous car and it stands out in a crowd. Even now, I get people pulling up next to me taking pictures, waving, thumbs-up etc.

Now the wait begins....it is pure agony. Keep us posted.

I wanted Carbon Fiber and GMs stage 2 is $4,000
Caravaggio and his awesomeness is almost half the price

Plus I'm a bit of a detail freak, "the little things" that 99.5% of the people don't notice, make me excited...like the way Caravaggio splits the weave in a perfect V down the center of the splitter

Thank You I love your car, it helped me finalize my build

It's going to be long wait, I have built in relief points. Last week I received my Pinnacle Black Label kit, within a few weeks I'll have my splitter and skirts, in about 2 weeks I'll have the rest of my detailing products, on Feb 12th the wife and I are going to Atlantic City so of course I'm stopping by Kerbeck...and of course you've given me some work

IMO the $2,995 Stage 2 Carbon Flash is a better match because it matches the nose grille, the hood grille, the side grilles, the upper and lower rear intake scoops, the lower rear valance, the badges, and the rear spoiler.
