I also thought it would be a good color for my planned GS. However mixed reviews from folks who saw it. I said I wanted to see in person before ordering but where I am that would never happen! Just search the color under Google or Bing Images, you'll find a number of pics. Most pics do look bland.
I'm back to picking another color! Had a Red '88, Ruby Red '93 (bit like Black Rose Metallic,) Yellow '08 and my current Crystal Red Metallic so wanted something different. Currently have two on my computer screens and narrowing to one!

Very classy color. We were all set to purchase a C7 coupe in Sterling Blue. But then read GM discontinued the color due to low sales and backed off. Since I generally sell every 3-5 years it gave me concern it would be more difficult to find a new buyer.
I am easy to please on exterior colors. Ended up purchasing one in Admiral Blue but could of easily ended up with red or yellow and maybe even white.

This is a very classy color. Have seen in person. Color change in different lighting more silver in sunlight more blue in shade. There are a few out there on lots . I'm still considering Sterling Blue but I want Twilight Blue interior and even fewer with that combo. I know of one 3 - 4 Hours away if it's there in spring I will check out, This color I believe is used on different GM models you might check that option out to see color in person.

Definitely go see one before buying. I thought I would love it and was contemplating ordering it, but when I saw it on the lot I didn't like it. It is a very feminine color IMO.

I own 3 other cars that are very similar in color to the SBM. When I was buying the 2016 C7, they didn't have this color. I wish I had bought a '17 in this color so that I would own 4 cars with colors in this shade. I purchased a Torch Red instead and do like that color as well.

I can tell you will have no problem selling that color down the road. I sell used Corvettes and speak from experience. Lime Rock Green and Daytona Orange were both discontinued. Now they sell very well used. If you like Sterling Blue buy it.

I agree with Corvette ED. I used to be in the business as well. I actually was looking for a Silver Z06 after my first two C7's had been Arctic White. The dealer actually had both Blade Silver and Sterling Blue side by side. I bought the Sterling Blue. It just seemed like a deeper Silver to me.
But color is very subjective and this Sterling Blue changes color depending on the light as someone mentioned earlier. So you really need to see it in person in my opinion so you don't have any buyers remorse later.
OP... Feel free to pm me if you have any questions.
Good luck and happy hunting.

If I remember right the cut off date to order was around 2-20-2017. Check with dealer or do search to verify date. Only reason I didn't order was because I have yet to see Sterling blue with Twilight Blue interior. I'm hoping blue interior will bring out the blue in Sterling Blue. As for limited color I actually like that idea and if I get one with Twilight Blue interior it will be even more limited. Extra bonus is my wife loves the color and she agreeing to spend this amount of money on a new corvette . She's happy & I'm happy. If we can't find one in spring our second choice is Blade Silver with Spice Red or Twilight Blue interior. I will be happy with either color combo.

The attention the car gets from the ladies is 10 fold what I was getting with my Arctic White C6. Chicks absolutely love this color and it gets their attention. Yesterday, I watched a girls jaw literally drop when she had seen my car. I'm pretty sure she sprained her neck as she drove by. Yes, there are more masculine colors, if you like to impress the boys...
What I find interesting is that people who really don't like the SBM are really drawn to the Watkins Glen Grey.

I thinks it's a beautiful color that actually accents the body lines better than ours in LB Red (although I also love our colour!)
It's seems to me colours that were unpopular back in the day in the C2 era are more acceptable and valuable now.
