I have never used spacers or have had any experience with them but I was wondering if anyone used them on the stock wheels on the Z51 to "pop" out a bit the stock wheel? If anyone has done it, what size and where were they bought? Thank you in advance
Spacers may look good, but pushing out the tires any at all is sure going to chew up the sides of your car much more than the OEM offsets already do. They don't serve any useful purpose other than aesthetics, and the irony is you'd be trashing the looks at the same time you're trying to make it look better.
They can also be dangerous during hard cornering by increasing the probability of a wheel mounting point failure.
Doubtful it's a factor today - but in the "old days" having offset wheels (essentially what spacers do) would increase the "stress" on the wheel bearings which could and did lead to wheel bearing failure. Not sure anyone could really see a 6 mm difference. In my mind this falls directly into the "why bother" folder. Perhaps I'm just getting old.
A lot more things about a vehicle are changed with spacers than most folks realize. While there are some theoretical advantages, there are also some distinct potential disadvantages, suspension geometry and wheel bearing issues being among them.
Sure, they've been used in racing, but presumably such cars have been tested and further modified for a proper set-up. Obviously, most people just slap them on assuming there will be no effect except a wider track. That's not the case.

I have used spacers for many years on porsches and Z's with very good results. They are mainly to bring the wheel more flush with the fender. Not needed on the C7 as the wheels are already in a great position.
Just a quick FYI - Many tire stores like Discount Tire will not service wheels with spacers. I learned this the hard way.
Not that big of a problem unless you find yourself in the situation I did when I was one my way to a business meeting in a suit and had a flat. I had to remove the tire myself and re-install it in order for them to repair it.
