Anybody pulling a small trailer???
I purchased my C-7 just about two weeks ago and will be taking it for a nice long ride this summer from Pennsylvania out to Yellowstone National Park and other National Parks heading across the Northern part of the US. I have a small alumilite trailer that weighs very little, has a low profile, and worked very well when pulled behind my 1977 C-3.
It locks and it works perfectly for carrying additional items that may not fit easily inside the car.
The trailer is currently in my storage where I have it prepared for painting to match the car I will pull it behind if I can secure a non-invasive hitch.
Has anyone here modified their C-7 to add a trailer hitch capable of pulling a small trailer yet? If so I would be interested to see a few pictures if you have them.
Thank you very much and best regards,
David Howard

Trailer would be painted Long Beach Red Tintcote to match the car.
Thank you for any suggestions you might have and best regards,

You just don't see threads like this in the Porsche forums.

About the only thing that would concern me, is how does the trailer perform at 150-160 MPH?

Best one I have seen several years ago and believe on this forum, was a fellow who had a system fabricated to do something similar by having the hitch receiver bolt to the rear cross member thru the hole behind the license plate. It was welded to a plate that I recall was about a foot wide and the height of the rear cross member. That was bolted to the member.
As I did on my C6, the hitch arm slipped into the receiver when it was used and secured with a pin and clip. When not in use the license plate was put back on. As I recall he put the removed plate on the trailer. If not legal would have to fabricate a bracket to attach to the hitch and hold it to the side on the rear.

I don't think you need a trailer. I was able to get more than my wife and I needed for a 3 week tour out west last summer. These coupes hold an awful lot. Just do laundry if you feel the need to stay fresh. lol
If you're camping and need more stuff, you bought the wrong vehicle.

I pulled a trailer (for my tires and other equipment) all over the southeast with my c5 that I dragraced. However, there was plenty of room to put the hitch between the pipes. Never put a hitch on my c6. Will be interested to see pix of how a hitch fits on the c7.
