The interiors on the 53 were a version of red and white is the only exterior color available on the corvette every year since it was created. As far as when the specific tones of torch red and adrenaline and which was first, I don't know.
Ther was a version of red available on the exterior of the 1954 vette...
I love the red! I have the sharp red interior on my split window and on my 16- z06/07....

Adrenaline Red was introduced in 2014 with the C7. Torch Red was introduced for the 1993 model year (C4) and ran through the 2004 model year (end of C5 production). In 2005 it was replaced by Victory Red. It returned in 2010 (C6) and has been available ever since.
Victory red looks way better than torch red. I had both.
I traded a Victory Red C6:
For a Torch Red C7:
I'm not sure if those colors are identical, but they are pretty damn close. The lighting in the top photo is bright sunlight, the lower photo overcast, so if there are differences in the pictures, that's a big part of it. I'd have to park the Torch Red next to a Victory Red car to compare.

Corvette reds are complicated. The hot orangey Torch red first appeared in 93 and offered a matching hot red interior. The 97-99 C5 kept Torch red but didn't offer a matching interior. But 2000-04 again offered a matching hot red interior.
In 2005 the new C6 dropped Torch red for Precision red (kinda dark and muddy) with a matching interior (called Cobalt red). Precision red was so unpopular that it was replaced mid-year with Victory red from C/K trucks and Cobalts (a true red, not orangey like Torch or dark like Precision). Unfortunately only the exterior red was changed in mid-2005, the darker Cobalt red interior continued until 2013. So red/red C6's from mid 05 thru 09 were darker inside than outside. When Torch red returned by popular demand in 2010 there was no matching interior offered either and that dark red interior didn't work at all.
Thankfully the C7 arrived with the hot Adrenaline red interior to match Torch red. Matching red/red, not seen since 2004.
I do like the TR/AR combination. But what really sold me was seeing the two-tone option for the first time. The two-tone "tones down" the AR interior just a touch. But TR and AR do go well together . . .

Funny, I've had both and I prefer Torch Red!
Here is my old Victory Red 2008 next to the 2015 Torch Red when my wife and I picked it up. Victory Red is noticeably darker, and in 2005 there was precision red that was a touch darker than Victory Red.
I like Torch Red the best though.

I had a 1993 Torch Red Coupe. The color is what sold me on the car. In the Sun it was like the car had some kinda of internal backlighting below the paint.
My 1993 had the Tan Interior.

Because if it was the only color offered it would be very boring. Nothing wrong with torch red (I've had a few myself), but it's not the only color I like.
