Electronics early C7's
Hi there,
Hope this has not been
but does anyone know the difference between the navigation, Bluetooth and other "entertainment" electronics in the 2014 compared to 2017? I'm in the market for a C7 and think they all are beautiful but would throw in the extra chip if the new ones were worth it.

The 14 has HD FM Radio, and all the following years do not.
'14 & 15 do not have front facing camera, following years do. Important if you don't want to smash your splitter on a curb.
16 & 17 have newer hardware and the interfaces are not as laggy as the '14 & 15.
'16 & 17 have (or can be software updated to have) android auto and crapple car play. '14 & 15 cannot be software upgraded for those features.
'14 & '15 HMI can be upgraded to '16 hardware for $1k to $1,200 worth of parts.
'14 & 15 do not have front facing camera, following years do. Important if you don't want to smash your splitter on a curb.

This covers it well.
I have a '14 and the so-called "upgrades" in later model years don't cost justify the $1K price. The system isn't visibly different until you start exploring menus.
I wouldn't use things like CarPlay, since my iPhone is always mounted at eye level on a mag mount vent clip. Instead of having one screen, I just use two.

The 14' s didnt have PDR available with navigation (video data recorder) all 15 and newer models have PDR with the navigation, if that makes a difference for you. I have a 15 with PDR and yes it is an awesome feature if you plan on tracking your car, if you don't, you may not use it much. Good luck on your search for your new C7.

One small footnote, on the 16/17 front camera is only on 2LT 3LT trim levels. It is not on the 1LT and there is not a good way to add it.
