Zoren,

I removed OEM Z51 spoiler. New Spoiler is APR Carbon Fiber Track Pack II Spoiler. Comes with the wickerbill.

Black out tail light covers from GS Creations.

The poll left out "None of the above." To me, the diffuser is just another unnecessary component to hang on your already beautiful C7. If the engineers at GM thought it was significant, they would have included it in the original design package. Just my personal opinion. But, whatever jerks your chain.

Not if you track the car and it is functional. Diffusers can offer great downforce. ACS doesn't look functional to me.

So which one actually does something aerodynamically ? Any of them actually tested in a wind tunnel. I wish that GM would offer an OEM option that was integrated and tested.

Do they make.. the car FASTER ? or SLOWER ? Slower=downforce I hope.

Do they keep dust and crap from getting the back end dirty ?

They do look good, especially the WeaponX but it's a bit pricey... i know... you get what you pay for... I just have problems even with what looks like a few plastic fins costing $500+ bucks

You may be correct, as I certainly am not experienced at Tracking the C7. I just think that if GM wanted to include the diffuser as a component part of a speed package, they would have offered the option on the Z06.

Don't understand how a diffuser adds to the down force.

A proper, functional diffuser assists with air movement exiting from the rear of the car. The air there is turbulent as it exits from under the car, and it can slow down and create turbulence. A functional diffuser helps to direct the air properly and smoothly, which keeps it moving as fast as possible. What this does is allow the air to move faster under the car.

What happens is that as air moves faster, the pressure drops. Fluid dynamics proves this. So if the air is moving faster under the car than over or around the car, it will create downforce. This downforce helps to keep us track guys stuck to the race surface. A proper, functional diffuser can be more efficient than a wing, as it has less parasitic loss created (wing creates more drag).

Most of the diffusers listed in this thread are either not-functional, or potentially create even more turbulence, making them worse than not adding them. The angle of the diffuser is very important in creating the low pressure area. Other factors such as the height of the car, the flatness of the undercarriage also contribute a great deal. You basically want to PINCH the air as much as possible (which speeds it up and lowers the pressure), and create a smooth surface for it to travel under (which reduces turbulence) and a smooth transition to the higher pressure air at the rear (where the diffuser comes in). So from the splitter, to the undercarriage, to the rear, it is all working as a system to create low pressure under the car. This low pressure area, when compared to the higher pressure air above the car, creates downforce, and LOTS of it. This is why F1 cars are so low.

I'm loving that back end with the blacked out look.

Too bad Corsa doesn't make a diffuser like Borla does. I think they should!

Weaponex here. Great fit and finish. There are more choices on the market now than there were a year + ago, but I'd still go with Weaponex. Note, I don't think you need to go carbon fiber, you can go carbon flash.

Do the Weapon diffuser fins look skinnier than the ACS ones?

Sooo.....about that WeaponX group buy...

I installed the ACS fins and while I like the look from afar, up close it confirmed the single piece WeaponX version is the way to go. Old thread but I'm down for one in carbon flash.
