I will be purchasing another Corvette here in the future but really dont know what I want. A modded C6 Z06 or a Z51 C7? Anyone run into this issue and have input thats swayed their decision? The Z06 will cost me less yes, but the C7 is newer.
Z06 is a tiny bit faster on a track, a bit faster in a straight line and that's about it.
Since it's probably through most of its depreciation, it will hold value very well. 500+ hp cars that handle well with massive brakes are only going to get so cheap.
It also looks like a 12 year old car and has no removable roof and lacks a ton of the luxuries of the C7

Not to be rude but these types of decisions are very personal and your best course of action is to actually drive both cars back to back and decide. For example you may not care as much as the interior as person B, and my opinion is the C7 interior alone is worth buying over the C6. Another person may prefer the exterior styling of the C6.
It's a very personal choice. But definitely drive them back to back and pay a lot of attention to the little things like the materials, technology, etc. The C7 is a very different car than the C6.
What are your intentions with the car? If you are thinking along the lines of track days and want to save a few bucks, go with the C6Z. If you are looking for a fun weekend cruiser, go with the C7. Both are excellent and you really can't go wrong with either, and the pro's and con's with both are pretty apparent.

These are all good points. What's the intended use... do you prefer more creature comforts, etc? Even though the C6 is older, it still looks fairly modern, imo. Also, if you get a used C6Z, you'll probably want to make sure the possible (however unlikely) problem with the valve guides has been investigated. For track use, a C6Z in good condition is tough to beat, imo.
Would be a track car/cruiser. I like the C6 but interior is really lacking. I really dont care which makes more power, but depreciation is something to worry about.
Probably a useless response but get the one you really want the most and meets your needs. Not sure why you state depreciation is a concern unless you do not plan to keep it awhile.
But if you want an answer get the C7 it is better in every way over a C6.

Eh, I'm not sure you can say a base C7 is better than a Z06 in every way, especially for track use.
Ask this same question on the C6 forum... see what answers you get.
Many members here came from a C6 to a C7... how many are going back? ( there are some... but a very...very... small number )
