Default Valet mode

Does the valet mode on a 2016 Corvette ZO6 limit the speed of the vehicle?

No. Valet mode does not limit the speed of the vehicle regardless of what C7 you have.

Sadly, no it doesn't. But it should and seems it could be a software improvement.

Just finished reading an old AUTOMOBILE review of the 1989ZR!
Its version of "VALET MODE" actually limited the horsepower
available

It was partly designed to limit ability of younger drivers also so the car could appeal to a more general audience (guess people with kids)

chief engineer Dave M confirmed this in the interview for the magazine article

The C4 with the Lt5 engine had two keys. One for full power and the other reduced the output for things like valet or other inexperienced drivers like the owners kids.

From my 2015 Silverado owners manual:

"For Pushbutton start system:
Once Key Registration is selected,
the system detects whether there is
a transmitter key in the transmitter
pocket, which is in the center
console storage area or on the side
of the steering wheel column. See
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
System Operation on page 2-4.
. If no transmitter key is detected,
a message displays indicating to
place the transmitter key in the
transmitter pocket.
. If the transmitter key is in the
pocket in the transmitter pocket,
it will identify whether the
transmitter key is registered or
unregistered.
. If the transmitter key is not
registered, a message
displays requesting
confirmation to register.
Select Register and follow
the instructions. A message
displays to confirm
successful registration.
. If the transmitter key is
already registered, the
option to unregister
displays. If Unregister is
selected, the transmitter
key is no longer registered
and a confirmation displays.
In vehicles with a Pushbutton start
system, if a Teen Driver transmitter
key and a non-Teen Driver
transmitter key are both present at
start up, the vehicle will recognize
the non-Teen Driver transmitter key
to start the vehicle. The Teen Driver
settings will not be active.
Manage Settings
The PIN can be used to change
these settings:
Audio Volume Limit: Allows a
maximum radio volume to be set.
Teen Driver Speed Warning:
Allows a warning to be set when a
selected speed is exceeded.
Teen Driver Speed Limiter:
If equipped, this allows the
maximum speed limit of the vehicle
to be set"

This was in the Ops manual and gives owner the ability to set things like radio volume, speed warnings and put a speed limit on the truck.
Why would this be on a truck and not a Vette? just the insurance cost savings would make it pay for the system.
I did not paste the whole section but it also works with old school key system as well.
I know the truck logic is for a teen, but could be used for valet as well.

The Hellcat even does this. One key for limited power and the other for unleashing the beast. Why doesn't the Corvette have this? Or at least a rev limiter (to 3K RPM) and speed limit to 55?
