Spear decal...Yay or nay?
I'm thinking a black spear decal might look nice on my white vette. Anyone else do this simple appearance mod? Look good, or too much?

I'd really need to see a sample of what you are wanting to make a comment. Not sure what a spear decal is.

If this would be applied on the hood, behind the vent, it would probably go well there. I have seen pics of other decals that looked great in that area.

IMO....Decals are what little kids who build plastic models on the dining room table use to hide their glue mistakes. Decals can become very quickly gaudy. I think they are useful if you have a light-colored car of all one color because they can break up and define the car a little better. The problem with the vette is that unless you pay extra for colored vents, it comes with quite a lot of black contrast already. One horizontal and one vertical vent on each side. The hood has a black vent, and the rear has two, plus the lower panel and the front intake. And if you have black wheels...That's a whole lot of black to start with and one could make the case that in most cases it is sufficient to provide enough contrast. There was a black vette with orange center stripes at my local dealer that sat for over a year. I happen to like black cars, but that orange made it butt ugly. The dealer finely wised up and removed the stripes, and the car sold.
Now if you came across an all white or all yellow car with body-colored painted vents, then I could see a stripe to break up that mass of color. Obviously the whole issue is entirely subjective. But you asked for opinions, so.....

I'm not hating it AP. I guess if this was a standard survey I would check the "Neither agree nor disagree" box. If you like it, I like it too.

Give it a try, you can always remove it if you get tired of it.
