In an attempt to be more manly (and lose some weight - see my previous thread 😂, I was doing some spirited driving this morning. I have the A8 and was in Sport mode with paddle shift. On the 1-2 and 2-3 shift I felt like I hit the fuel cutoff. Nose dove, felt like like I had applied brakes. Was attempting to shift at about 6500 rpm. As soon as upshift happened, rear end squatted and took off again. What is the optimum shift point people have found while in manual mode?
Thanks for the tips! I found it took me a while to get away from the manual reflex of foot off the gas while I shift. It seems that shifting speed is tied to throttle position rather than just RPM. Seems like faster shifts when the peddle is down. For example, you can get a really fast 1-2 shift even at low RPM if you shift with the peddle down. (But it's all academic while stuck waiting for Spring up here in MN)

When I use the paddle shift over 4K RPM with my foot in it, there is no perceptible shift lag or delay. Sounds like you may be right at redline and hitting the limiter by the time you use the paddle.
