I had the same problem temporarily until I checked the connections on the battery and then unplugged and replugged the tender unit into the wall socket. The red light should come on and stay on until the battery is brought up to full charge when the green light comes on. I think on some units the green light will flash when the battery is strong enough to be used and then goes to steady green when fully charged.
I have a Harley on a H-D battery tender in my garage right now. I don't have one on my Corvette; however, is there any advantage to getting one from Chevrolet specifically for the Corvette, or one from Auto Zone or similar place? Thoughts. Thanks.
No, there's nothing special about the maintainer that comes as part of the "Battery Protection Package." It's a CTEK 3300, which can be purchased on Amazon and many other places. The only difference is the Corvette logo for which you pay a considerably higher price to GM.
It doesn't work any better than maintainers from Battery Tender ™ or any other manufacturer.
I've been using a Deltran Battery Tender Plus for over ten years (including on my C7) without a single problem. It's readily available for around $50. You can get an adapter cord for plugging into a 12V socket (the one found in the rear hatch) separately for around $7.00.

I was reading this link and it says do not use with an extension cord. I pick up my car Thursday so I do not have access to my charger yet. Seems like I will not be able to use the tender then as I need about a 25 ft extension to use. How long is the electric cord for the tender? Maybe I could buy a 10 or 12 gauge extension cord.

You can use an extension cord.. no problem (and it doesn't need to be all that heavy duty as the charger pulls next to nothing under load

I had a defective OEM charger that would stay on charge all the time and never cycle, GM replaced it. I believe the book says not to let it stay in charge mode over 24 hrs. if memory serves me could be wrong on 24 hr.

Actually, there are several differences:
The C7 maintainer does not have a snowflake (low temperature) setting that the normal 3300 has.
The C7 maintainer does not have settings for different types of batteries like the 3300.
The C7 maintainer automatically starts working immediately when plugged into the car and the wall socket, no need to select proper mode.
The C7 maintainer will have both indicator lights green when fully charged, unlike the 3300 that will have one green (charged) and one amber (power on).
I think GM wanted to keep it simple for owners who don't pay attention, but we had the Corvette version for our C6 and now C7, they work just fine.

There is absolutely no reason not to use an extension cord with your charger. I would make sure that you don't try to close the rear hatch on an extension cord because the cord is too heavy but other than that there is no reason for not using a good quality cord.

huh??? Just read page 2 of the link listed above. See highlighed lines. So your saying it's all right to ignore this safety warning? Why?

I think they are just covering their *** with that statement in case the extension cord is defective and some how causes a fire. The maintainer / tender draws very little power.
