FWIW bought the smallest Scrivets I could find when installing my CF splitter. When I looked at the size of the hole I had to drill for the Scrivets I decided to use the 3/16 inch aluminum rivets I used on my side skirts. Like I did on my side skirts I used small stainless fender washers under the rivet head to spread the load. Drilling a somewhat smaller than 3/16 inch hole through the splitter and OEM plastic was easy. If I need to remove, just need to drill out the rivet or grind off the rivet head that sits on the fender washer. The splitter is held in place by a number of factory bolts so the rivets were added only toward the front.
All of the holes are already there. Just remove the existing bolts, line it up and bolt into place. If you use scrivets instead of rivets you'll have to drill the holes a little wider to fit in those spots. It's about as easy an install as there is on the car.
did you install with out a lift?...thinking of driving up on a 2x4 (played down) piece of wood to get a few additional inches underneath
That should be plenty of room. I did mine just laying flat on the garage floor.
If you're installing a 'Stage 1' splitter, the original screws should be plenty,
unless you're going to run over 100 mph for any length of time.
I've had mine on for over a year without drilling any additional holes.
If you're concerned, but don't want to drill any additional holes, you could always put a couple of strips of 3M tape under the 'fangs'...

The splitter has pre drilled holes for installation. You have another row of holes besides the factory ones you'll need to use for stability. I used GM bumper screws and back plates on the ones I could reach. 2 scrivets used were hands could not reach in the middle, there ok but will allow a lot of flex. Lastly one rivet at the point. I drove onto 2x12 for a little extra clearance.
I would also recommend using the same bumper cover screws, which required only a 1/8" hole... Just big enough to thread it through.
On the two holes that did not have access from inside the bumper, I used 1/4" plastic rivets...
You definitely want to put fasteners in all the holes on the leading edge so it does not sag over time. Remember the purpose of the splitter is to put downforce on the nose of the car.
