Default Auto Guard wax?

Has anyone heard of this? My dealer puts this on every Vette. Twice a year.

I guess I'm just suspicious of anything most dealers use. This is a money maker for them.

This stuff appears to be a silicone type sealant. I stay away from stuff with silicone.

That's not it, Colonel. You found interior cleaner. The stuff I'm looking for is a wax for the paint.

I'm looking for someone who has had it done or knows anything about it

^^^ Sorry about that. I copied the wrong link. Found several dealers who are using this stuff also some discussion forums. Their website appears to be down. First link.

More dealer add on junk, anything a dealer sells for "protection" has a 300 pct markup.

Get a $20 polymer sealant and wipe it on,, you'll have a better looking car.

And yes, I have seen it used first hand.

^^^ This is not an add on that they want me to pay for. It is part of the "Corvette benefits package" that comes with any Corvette they sell.

If you saw it used, how is it applied and how does it look when finished?

I have some Blackfire Total Polish And Seal that I used on my ATS as a test and it still looks great after about 6 months. I'm trying to find out if I should have the dealer use their product or I should do it myself with the Blackfire.

How many scratches do you want on your car. I would run from the dealer. Who knows who is applying this product and if it is being applied properly. Some of those free dealer waxes are just running your car through a car wash that sprays on wax.

My 2 cents...If the dealer's product was worth a darn, we would have heard about it on this site from RonH or Glen e already. I would stick with the Blackfire Total Polish and Seal since it has proven results and skip the crap that the dealer is pushing.

I did find this:

I would use the products you have used on your ATS, you know the results will be good and you eliminate the dealer possibly doing more harm than good.

^^^ Agreed....I've never heard of the stuff.

EA, I'd tell your dealership to give you the bottle and you'll take care of it yourself at home.
