Since March 2016 I've been getting periodic notifications from OnStar via email as follows:
"An issue with the ABS in your 2015 Chev. Corvette Stingray has been detected. Please service your vehicle within 7 days. Please disregard this message if your vehicle is already in for service. Inaccurate readings can be generated during service."
When they come in it is always in pairs, one for ABS and the other for Stabilitrak. Today it happened about the time I put the car in service mode to push it out of the garage, but the last time about two weeks ago was at the dealer picking it up after a TC replacement. It's happened about 6-7 times since last March. I've had two dealers check for codes and there are none, and no warning lights (e.g., ABS) have ever illuminated in the display.
Anyone else have this problem? Neither dealer has a clue, and I doubt if OnStar will talk to me since I no longer subscribe.
I would get the same Onstar notifications each morning that I pushed my car out of the garage at 5:30AM to go to work.
They stopped once the six months free trial was over. Side note, I really don't "get" Onstar. To pay that much money to be annoyed just didn't make sense, first world problems...
Well, to make my original notifications seem trivial, I got this monthly diagnostic report one year ago. No codes, no CEL, car ran great. Looking at this report you'd think the car would be dead on the side of the road, maybe even on fire. The next month was clear. I'm amused by the parts that are qualified by "if equipped." Shouldn't OnStar know that my Corvette doesn't have hybrid technology or 4WD?

My notifications were via email with no verbal intrusions within the car. My trial period was over a year ago and I've gotten maybe three verbal statements that I was covered by the Basic Plan, but that was quite innocuous. I'd rather not get them, though.

You have basic coverage for 5 years.

Looks like the OnStar module couldn't read anything and spat out garbage.

You have stumped me with Service Mode???? What is that?
ABS and Stabilitrack are two features of the same module the Electronic Brake Control Module. ABS codes may disappear with each engine start. That is a design feature that permits the systems to recalibrate before the car is driven.

Service Mode is "Ignition Run no Engine running" or holding down the Start button for 5 seconds without your foot on the clutch or brake.
It basically turns on all the electronics to be identical to the engine running, but the engine is still off.
In the old days you got to it by turning your key two clicks (from off to accessory to run) but not "tipping" the key into crank/start.

Same 2 emails from OnStar here. No code showing on DIC. Took car to dealer and they found code with diagnostics tools. Vette tech explained code showed car was driven with foot on both brake and throttle same time. Thought about what happened at that particular time which email claimed ABS and Stabilitrack issue occurred and found the answer. Car was washed (also underbody) previous day and evidently brake rotors not completely dry when garaged over night. Had a hard time to brake them loose the next morning when backing out of garage and put left foot on brakes and right foot on gas simultaneously to assure car would not lurch out of garage and hit someone. Mystery solved. Car drove perfectly after that. Vette Tech cleared the code. Need to drive and dry out rotors longer before garaging car.

Push the start button for ~5 sec. with foot off the brake. It'll go in "service mode" which is basically the same as an older car with ignition on but car not running. This is the only way that I know of to get the A8 into neutral without starting the motor. I must do this to push the car out of the garage and into the driveway, like to wash it. I don't like to start it unless I'm going somewhere. That keeps water out of the system and battery drain to a minimum. OCD, I know.

So does that mean no historical codes are retained? Dealers are clueless. It also would seem that I should be getting warnings on the DIC that something is awry, but I'm not.
I just got off the phone with OnStar and they said to just ignore the notifications, that without an explanation of why I'm getting them in the first place. The diagnostic report I got one year ago showing the entire drivetrain as being faulty, he said sometimes there are issues with the reporting. It makes me want to just ignore these OnStar reports unless I see other indications of issues, like CEL, ABS, or Stabilitrak idicators on the DIC.

Thanks, Heidi. At least I know I'm not alone. Yesterday my codes came about the time I was in service mode, which only lasted maybe one minute, as I didn't start the car until after I finished my wash job. I'll keep an eye on when these occur and try to find a pattern. The time before I was engaged in routine driving, no service mode. It's hard to get an email at 12:24pm, read it at 2:34pm, and speculate on exactly what you were doing (feet on what pedals, hands on whatever) two hours prior.
Again, OnStar told me to ignore the notifications, but the next time I should hit the OnStar button and ask them for a diagnostic check. They said that would be included in the Basic Plan, which I'm on since I've never paid OnStar anything.
