Grand Sport constraint

Grand Sport constraint
Not sure if this is a dup, nor do I know if this is true, but I'm being told by a reputable dealer that there is a nationwide constraint on standard brakes for the Grand Sport on factory orders. The only brakes available to order at this time are the carbon ceramic brakes.
Now before anyone goes bashing what I said above, I am no expert when it comes to constraints and I have no idea how long this is going to last, so if anyone (Zmurgy?) has any insight I'd appreciate it. I can't find the exact configuration I want from inventory so I plan to factory order my GS and this is an obvious show stopper for me.
Anybody know what's going on?

Don't know if this is true, but if it is.... this would also include the Z06 standard brakes, as they are the same!

Melting Slicks
When I was at a dealer in Arkansas on my way back from the museum (Bale Chevrolet) someone mentioned that same thing to me, the person that does the orders there. Again, not certain how valid/current it is, but I did hear it.

that would suck! when I ordered my grand sport, the manual transmissions were on constraint! I was looking forward to being one of the first ones to have a grand sport, but I wasn't going to switch to an Auto just for that. the wait was terrible though!

This is correct. I ordered 10 non Z06 and nationwide there were 20 J56 brakes.
The Z06's showed a similar number. In either case, I had no J56 availability. This is the first week in quite some time that the constraint has been so dramatic. It's been on and off since august.

I just checked the National Constraints Report. J56 brakes are on 0% constraint for both Grand Sport and Z06. The constraint is due to a supplier restriction and is expected to last at least until sometime in March.

^^^ I plan to order mine at the beginning of March, assuming the loyalty discount is continued.

Coming from a 3LT but don't use NAV very often and my Garman (we only use now when renting cars as the wife's new SUV has NAV) came with free lifetime updates for less than it costs to update the GM system! Found a mount that fits the C7 perfectly.
Also the 3LT I sold today had full Kalahari on the dash that is not longer available. Thought the 2LT looked better than adding a small amount on the dash and red was different and we liked the look on the car we saw! To each their own. I'll find a way to spend the savings!

Burning Brakes
Interesting, just ordered similar today after I sold my 2014! This will be my 5th Vette. Have had 2 reds, a ~purple in my '93 Anniversary Vette and Yellow. Wanted something different and wife liked white the best. Saw a base white with 2LT red interior and liked it. Also added red seat belts, red calipers and upgraded side skirts and splitter. Selected the machined face aluminum wheels. Had black wheels on the 2014 and gray on my Z51 C6 so thought that combo would be attractive and different.

If my next car is a Corvette I think it will be a GS.

Found a video that shows how it connects to a C7. It is at the bottom of this page:

Perfect spot for me. When not in use just pull the Garman off of the post. I could also mount my phone (and for folks who use theirs for a GPS would work fine) but I never have it on when driving the vette-so no need. It comes in two parts. Both well engineered and they have them for many cars and many devices. There is a base and then a specific mount for the device you're mounting, sold separately. Must have 50 GPS devices listed.
I only "found it," which helped make my 2LT vs 3LT decision. Won't get my GS for ~6 weeks, it's just in the build cycle.
Well built and when not in use takes up little room.
