In your experience what settings gain the loudest exhaust sound? I have Z51 with NPP exhaust and just doesnt seem loud enough. Maybe Im comparing it to my Jag f type but it just doesnt seem like it growls? Anything?
Pull the fuse that controls NPP from your fuse box. That makes sure the car stays in track exhaust mode with flaps open all the time, even at low rpms. That will help a little.
You are asking which exhaust setting mode is loudest? Track. You can set the exhaust mode to track full time. With this setting, the flaps sometimes close. Pull the fuse, as noted above, and they never close.
NPP is a simple binary system. Valves are either open or closed. Once open, loudness can only be controlled with the throttle. The settings also control throttle mapping, but that doesn't do anything different, volume-wise, than what is produced with your foot.
I also owned an F-Type, so I know what you're talking about. The F-Type OEM muffler design is louder, and the ECM was also tuned to direct inject a little extra fuel upon decel. That's what produces the signature snap, crackle, and pop F-Types are noted for. That's largely absent in the LT1 because it wasn't tuned that way.
If you want it louder, the only thing you can do is go aftermarket exhaust, and there are many choices that will get you there.

The OP should go through the Owner's Manual on how to set the NPP to Track mode, regardless of the Mode he is in. That will keep the butterflies open the most. But they will still close when cruising. On the highway that will eliminate any drone some think is objectionable.
In my C6 I had a switch I added that would force them to stay open. Had to close the butteflies at 65 mph even playing the radio loud since it did not overcome the objectionable drone.
Unlike Flowmasters, Borla etc that design for sound, NPP just reduces restriction. Not as good a sound as the Flowmasters I put on my truck or '88 Vette, IMO!
I have my exhaust management set to off so the exhaust valves are open all The time. I think the car sounds awesome plenty loud and grunty enough without being annoying and droning all the time.

I had flowmasters on my c6 they lasted one long highway drive and were ripped off the following day. The drone was unbearable!!!! Drove the car from NYC to Carlisle PA. My head was pounding by the time I got there. Maybe they are better on your truck but for the corvette I would never recommend then to anyone. Just my 2 cents.

Depends on the application and the specific design. For me they were fine. Did not use them on my '93 or '08 Vette.

I think that's only a 2014 thing. No "off" for 2015-.
I appreciate the input and yes I read the owners manual and pulled the fuse I was really looking for input as to what you did to achieve a louder exhaust. I'm not looking to rattle my neighbors out of bed just want a more aggressive note is all. Maybe it just isn't as loud in the cockpit. I guess I could go aftermarket if needed.

If you pulled the fuse and are not satisfied, then yea, your only option is to do some modifications. Some have deleted the mufflers, some have replaced the x-pipe, some both or more :-)
There are some recordings out there on You Tube that can give you some idea, but hearing it in person IMHO is the best thing to do. Get out to some Corvette gatherings in your area and start asking around as to who has made changes and start listening. Otherwise, you'll burn a bit of money trying to get to where you want to be trying different things.

If you already pulled the fuse, the butterflies are always fully open.
Only thing to do is remove the secondary CATS. Some call that installing a Borla etc X pipe but the Vette already has an X pipe, the Borla system just removes the CATS without welding in a section of pipe.
Folks report the sound "improves" (louder) but your also risking a warranty issue although the secondary CATs are not monitored.
OEM exhaust with X pipe and small CATs left; Borla removed CATs and X pipe center; Corsa, double X and no CATs right)

I can relate to the OP. Removed the secondary CATS via the Corsa double helix x-pipe and it made it noticeably better with the fuse pulled. I am not worried about any warranty issues as it would have to be shown that a defect or failure was related to removal of the secondary cats which would be a stretch IMO.
