When replacing the battery is there anything that can be done to not mess up the computer and memory loss?
I had zero problems when I changed mine this summer. More difficult swap than my C6 and with it I had to index the widows. No big deal but with the C7 was disconnected for over an hour and no reprogramming anything-even the windows indexed fine.
I did nothing special. However if you'd like the carpet back not to crack or worse rip at the plastic wheel wheel cover-pope it off.
There are also tricks to getting the large power board on the positive terminal off. This is a picture/text PDF of my install of a AGM battery this past summer: http://netwelding.com/Battery_Issues.pdf
The first 6 pages are the install, there are others after about voltages and issues I had with the OEM battery.
I've never had any problems my friend. But, you will have to re-index the windows as Lisa (owc6) advised. There's no way around that, but it's EZPZ.
I was surprised I did not have to when the battery was out for an hour when changing. Go figure. But as you say it's an easy proceedure outlined in the Owner's Manual.
