Default Memory seat adjustments

I set the memory the way I wanted it and for 1 1/2 years it worked fine. I have a 2016 built in July of 2015. Every time I got out the car it would retract all the way and when I got into it ....it would go back to the settings I placed in it. NOW....it suffers from CRS. I have to set it manually every time I get it it and even though I set the memory it doesn't remember it. It does retract all the way when I get out however. It's a PIA to reset the mirrors and seats every time I get in the car now. Does anyone have a clue to what is wrong??

My 2016 just started to act up too. I had to reset everything by turning them off in the settings, turning off car, restarting car, turn back on in the settings, and then setting both driving and exit positions. Seems to work, but I'm not sure why it all of sudden had problems.

Sometimes a battery disconnect is needed to reboot the car and get rid of these electric gremlins.

Try fluffing the carpet on the bulk head behind the seat first. I have a friend who was having seat issues. It turned out that the carpet got moved around and it depressed the limit switch on the bulk head. Just pulling out on the carpet a couple of times fixed the issue.

The seat is probably going back too far. Move the seat all the way back and then move it forward about an inch. Set your steering wheel exit position and then set the exit position in memory.

Then re-set your driving positions in memory.

Is it possible you accidentally switched which key you are using and it is looking for driver 2 and there is nothing programmed for this user?
I have done this from time to time and mine are set for me and my wife the setting are very close but different just enough to drive you crazy trying to figure out what is wrong.

There's a video tutorial on here by "that cute Ginger" (yes, really) if you search for that she takes you through the adjustment process. Seems to work here at least fwiw

Maybe if you are 6'2" with long legs. I'm 6'1" with short legs. My issue is head room. My seat is certainly not all the way back, I would never be able to get the clutch in!

That fixed mine. Mine worked for the first 3 months fine. Then had issues and did the above suggestion and it has been great ever since.

Thanks for all the responses...."Hoonose" had the answer. I disconnected the negative side of the battery for 30 seconds. Reset the seats the way I wanted them and they work now. The only other thing I had to do was Re-index the windows.

That might be correct for a 2014 but my 2016 is different. Push set button until it beeps than push driver 1 or 2 until it beeps! You are set! Exit button works the same. My wife does not drive the car so I have position 1 & 2 set the same. The only thing I have noticed, neither of my key fobs are marked 1 or 2 like my C6 had.

Reminds me of my classic statement when solving a welding problem for a fabricator. They would often say "but we didn't change anything!"

After adjusting parameters to a centerline position, like welding voltage for example, it would work fine. Would remind them they may not have made any significant change in their mind but they were "operating on the edge of disaster" and it didn't take much! (Note in automatic or robotic MIG welding, as employed for the Corvette frame, there are many more and not so obvious variables-all should be at centerline.)

Perhaps his seat was very close to the limit switch and wear over time caused it to move the small amount needed to hit it!

LOL...except unlike one previous poster....I'm only 5'10" and don't need all the seat travel HOWEVER...over the years I have also found that I don't need the wheel to come down as far either...

Recently had that experience. Someone was driving my Vette, since it was for sale (now sold, Grand Sport on order.). Not sure what they did but when I got in the seat was fully back as usual. Hit my #1 button, moved 1 inch forward. Repeated. Same ~1 inch.

Read this enough on the forum to know it had tripped the rear max travel limit switch. Reset the exit position by pushing all the way back and then forward 1/2 inch. Saved the setting, all was fine.

PS: I'm not that tall but my exit position is fully back, front and rear as high as possible, wheel fully up. Makes exit and entry easier.

No doubt you are correct in this being a possibility.

As I have said several times on this forum, whoever wrote the spec for the seat memory did not think it through. There is no reason the seat should be prevented from going forward when the backward travel limit is reached. In fact, you would think that should be the desired behaviour.
