2017 Yellow Grand Sport 1LT
I was originally looking at a used 2015/2016 Z51 and after my last post you all got me thinking of a new Grand Sport. Some of the forum dealers have cars for $56-$57k. My local dealer has the car listed below and I'm having a friend who works there see what his GM could do on the price. What does everyone think would be a good deal on the car? I told him he could probably get me out the door with it at $58k. Thoughts?

Depends. Do you own a Corvette now that qualifies for the $2k loyalty bonus. What is the tax rare in your state? $58K out the door seems like a steal, but that deapnds on your tax rate and the Corvette loyalty eligibility.

Nice choice of color. If your in roughly the 12% off range your doing pretty good.

I do qualify for the Corvette loyalty. Right now they're offering me NADA trade value on my '08 Z51 3LT with 51k miles($21,500) and they're at $62,500 on the Grand Sport. Tax rate is 8.75% in this part of Kansas. Regardless of where I buy it, I'll have to pay Kansas tax when I register.

$58K out the door is just not realistic in my opinion. Figure max 12% off MSRP and then the $2K rebate. With taxes, fees, registration, etc you are probably pushing $62K out the door. Yes there are $57-58K GS'S out there but this one has over $2K in upgrades. if you can find a GS without the $2K in options you might be able to get closer to $60K.

I just picked up my red GS M7 last week with PDR and the heritage package and full heritage stripe for $60k out the door....msrp was $70,500
15% off I pretty much had to buy it.

The most important thing is that you love the car: if you don't love this particular car, any price will seem expensive in a month. Color right? 1LT the package you want? 7MT? If so, get it and enjoy.

Herein lies the problem Tyler. The GS's you see priced at 56K-58K are at the big volume dealers that get more incentives from GM than your local low volume Vette dealer. For example Clark list 3 new ones, and Criswell in Maryland list 119. The smaller dealers sometimes just can't do a make down that great, and still make a profit. My guess is Mike Furman at Criswell will sell more Vettes in a month than Clark can sell in a year.
However, there's no harm in trying to get them that low. Good luck.

Pulled the trigger
Update: I now have a 2017 Grand Sport sitting in my driveway! It's too dark for good pics, but I'll get some posted up tomorrow. I'm so excited, can't believe I just bought a brand new Corvette!

Congrats man, these cars are amazing! Had mine a little over a week and can't stop smiling.

$60,500, they were higher than some of the volume dealers but it was easier to trade my '08 locally. They were really only $1000 higher than others for the same car so it was worth the convenience and I feel good about doing business locally.

There was some rain rolling in so I drove it the 20 miles home and parked her. But damn it was a great 20 miles! There was a raccoon flailing in the middle of the highway on the way home, I think he'd just been hit. I saw him and had a second to react, and my goodness does this thing hug the highway. My truck would've rolled, the GS goes, "That's all you've got?!"
