Side pipes for C7
Just curious if anyone from GM has given a thought about factory sidepipes. Had some hooker headers sidepipes on an my 73 454ci loved them and the noise, except they would melt your pants or burn you if you got to close. Opinions?

Not much room to put a sidepipe down there.

2) Likely to cause burns.
I think you have answered your own question.
Also, where are you going to put the (required) catalysts?
If there is any significant demand, the aftermarket is likely to meet it sooner or later.

I think the C7 has the perfect body style for side pipes to look great. HOWEVER I can't see how they could fit and more then that I would burn myself every damn time. I remember how it was when I was 18. Loved side pipes and at 18 who cares about burns lol.

correct me if Im wrong factory sidepipes had a shield over them that protected one from burns. A new more streamlined design would be needed which would also take the place of sideskirts. wish i had the talent i would draw something up

The heat shields also get hot. Side pipes make the interior much warmer.

Viper sidepipes
I am a big fan of the early Vettes with side pipes, but I don't want them on my 2014 C7.
