Wax residue along clear film edge
Black car
the seam/edge of my Xpel and the factory stuff on the rocker has some white residue in there. It's been washed several times...doesn't go away.
What do fellas suggest to get rid of it.
Thanks

You could try some rubbing alcohol.

I use Zaino Z-6 or Z-8 and a micro-fiber towel and it works great. Just spray along the offending edges after washing and give it a 'hard' wipe down along the edges. I'm sure there are other products that will work well too.

Don't have any Zaino. I do have V07 from chem guys.
I like the idea of using a toothbrush.
I'll wash her first, clay mitt, then try the tooth brush with either V07 or rubbing alcohol. Then second wash prior to wax. Next week I'll have time to do it all.
2nd issue. I have some "white wash" look on some rubber seal trim also. Must have gotten wax there too.
Any tips n tricks for blacking it out. Like the strip along the leading edge around the targa top.

^^^ There is a general forum for car care that may have some good tips:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...discussion-10/
And the AutoGeek site is a WEALTH of knowledge, can spend a lot of time there :-)

Ya I'm not sure I would try the toothbrush on it either. ESP with it being black. My car is black and I don't think I'd try it. Detail spray and microfiber towel does the trick on my suntek edges.

Child tooth brush is what I use, softer & still gets the job done. I use a electric toothbrush for my self , but ever time I go to dentist they give you a free toothbrush so I just tell the tech to give me one of the child brushes...it's become a joke at the dentist as they know it for my car. I must have 20 of the damn things.

Going forward lose the wax. Get a wipe on walk away (WOWA) product like Blackfire Crystal Seal and wipe it on the whole car in 20 minutes, stand back and admire. Leaves no residue or build up on the expel edges or white crap on trim. You'll feel guilty because it's so easy and looks so good. Lose the old ways and get with the times.

Along with the factory film I have Suntek paint protection film on select portions of my C7. I have found that by overlapping the film seams with blue painters tape you eliminate the build up problem. This process is not difficult but does add time to your polishing mission.

A soft toothbrush should not be a problem.
An alternative is to simply use some detailing spray and a microfiber towel. The detailing spray does a good job of removing wax residue.
I learned the hard way and now cover the edges with blue painters tape prior to waxing. The 1/4 inch not waxed is no big deal.

I do tape some edges to protect any rubber trim n such. I'll try that for the film.
As far as wax...I need to some swirl/halo corrections. On another thread, I mentioned my car was broke into. Passenger side window smashed. Door scratches. Body shop buffed out the scratches but really induced bad bad halos and swirls.
Sooooo,,,a day with V36, V38 and jetseal is coming up.

I just use the edge of a business card. You shouldn't have to put much pressure on it.

A microfiber towel has always worked very well for me.

Can't speak to the better thinner plastic as not a fan.

Edge of a business card seems like a great idea.
FWIW I wouldn't use a tooth brush; soft, child or pet.
Taping the edge of the film before waxing is a great idea also.
Microfiber towel and detail spray can be an asset in the removal process.
Goos luck.
