Look, people are driving way too fast in Kia's with 150 hp and good old boys in bigass pickups with giant wheels spewing crap all over the roads and none of them have a clue how to drive let alone stop! So it's not the hp of the car but the mentality of the driver. And all along they're texting going 85 on the interstate???

The only times the HP is too much is when it effects the drivability of a car on the road. Today, unlike yesteryear they have seemed to have mastered that. 650 HP Z06's, ZL1's and 707 HP Hellcats can be driven very docile without idling, overheating or other problems. I can see 800HP and beyond from the factory in the near future! With that said, I am very happy with my 460 HP Stingray!

So let's say we have 600+ HP, how driveable is that? There are some who savor that kind of power and are used to the twitchy, cheek-clench-inducing, burst of speed and rear-end wagging. I am not those people, but whatever floats your yacht...

I didn't drive a Z06, I only rode in one, and for a couple of reasons that led me to choose a Stingray with the Z51. I'm just basing my thoughts on how hard it is to unleash 460 hp on the street let alone 650 hp. But what do I know? One thing I've learned is that you get used to the power of the car you have and then at some point you catch yourself thinking 'another 75 hp wouldn't suck' : ). Boys will be boys I suppose.
I had a stingray, and then basically turned it into a Z06 with mods. (Runs even with a Z06 up to 140mph). I can assure you the extra power is fantastic. Yea, I get on it pretty hard here and there.. so much so that 640rwhp actually isn't enough for me..

[QUOTE=patentcad;1594222318]A lot of you are excited about this new ZR Corvette that's being teased in the auto press that's going to presumably have 700+ bhp. I just read a review of the new Camaro ZL (Z06 motor, 650 hp) that essentially concludes the car really has way too much power both for daily driving or to have so much fun with on public roads, which is my general impression of the Z06. Unless you track your car, where do you really drive these cars? I can barely open up the stock Stingray, I really have to judiciously pick my spots even with that car to be reasonably safe and to keep my driver's license.

probably give it a good run here---

I think the Grand Sport is an outstanding choice. All the benefits and styling of the Z06 but with a very manageable 460HP.
