Are you kidding me?! Buyer Beware!
So if you've read any of my previous threads I had an issue where it was alleged my vehicle was damaged during transport. The dealership (David Maus Chevrolet/ Longwood Florida) was great about the incident took the vehicle back and got me a brand new one. After speaking with the GM and staff they stated they were going to ship the vehicle back to GM and acknowledged there was an issue. So out of pure curiosity I went to their website this evening and they've listed the vehicle back for sale! I don't know how dealerships operate, but to me this is just about as shady as it gets. Below are photos of the car and a warning to anyone reading this to watch out and not buy it!

Happens all the time. Never shows up on Carfax, etc either.
Gotta love dealers.

Paint was flaking in numerous spots on the bumper. Bumper was misaligned, gap under the left front headlight. Also protruding out to the left of the headlight. It appeared someone took the bumper off and put it back on. My local detail guy also noticed that there was an issue with the way the clear coat looked.

I read all about your issues and they sucked... but the dealer isn't selling the car as brand new and isn't doing anything wrong at this point to be honest. It's a used car with a touched up front bumper selling at a pretty fair price. Dealer isn't wrong this time Brandon.

You praised then for taking the vehicle back and how great they were, and got you a new one. Then call them out and throw them under the bus. So they probably fixed the problems and put it up for sale as a used car. As stated above, what did you think they were gonna do, crush it. It's cosmetic stuff!

I understand your point clearly. They said they were going to return it to GM and you look up and it's for sale on their lot. They prolly figured it would just be easier to fix it up and sell it instead of going through all the paperwork.
Now had they presented it as a new car, your disgust would have been more justified, IMHO. In any case, you've got yourself a new Vette so enjoy it!

Dealers do this stuff all the time...back in late 06 I ordered a 07 vert and went to BG to watch it being built. A couple of days later I get a call from the dealer (in north FL) who I ordered the car from stating that the Allied driver got there late the day before with my car and parked to overnight and drop first thing in the morning. During the night another rig smashed into the back of the transport and totaled my car (rear) and the front of the car that was above mine. Of course the dealer would not accept the car (driver actually wanted to leave it, and of course did...claiming he would return to get it). They ordered me a new car (and lost an allocation over it). Fine. The visual damage looked repairable BUT the tub was cracked, one of the first structural pieces glued to the frame. You have to nearly take the back of the car apart to repair it, thus the "totaled" determination. A couple of months later I called the dealer and inquired about what happened to my car. They said that GM sold the car to a dealer in central FL...so I went searching (remember, I have the VIN#). Sure enough the car was repaired and sold to an unsuspecting sole. The vehicle history report shows "rear bumper cover fenders repainted"....that's it. Always beware, ALWAYS.

The "traded up" story, "his loss, your gain" wording is a little shady, however I'm sure once they settled financially with GM, they had a titled used car on the lot for sale. Hopefully whoever does buy it inspects it thoroughly.
Glad you had the issue resolved to your satisfaction.

WTF, is everybody here that naive? My wife works for one of the biggest international shippers of automobiles and heavy equipment on the planet. Europe to the U.S., Asia to the U.S. and Europe, etc. An increasingly significant component of their business are the body shops at the various ports of arrival where they repair all the cars dinged up during shipping. No, BMW is not going to discard a $60K car because it needs a new fender. Ditto at local dealerships.
So they don't sell it to you. They sell it to the next customer. So it's buyer beware. Always.

FYI if you ever have a panel problem due to a factory defect the dealer can call the factory and B/G WILL send the dealer a new factory painted part. Its not something they advertise openly but I have seen it done many times myself included. B/G could have sent you a brand new pre painted bumper cover that your dealer could have installed in under an hour.
