I confess, anybody ELSE?
When I first saw the C7, I really "disliked" its looks. (always telling my kids not to say they hate something) The new generation felt so much different than my C6 that I didn't even feel like it classified as a corvette. The more time that went by hearing what a great performer the new generation had become I started to look more closely at its style. OK I thought, the rear lights are a little tacky and its definitely less curvy than its predecessor but it definitely looks so much more modern and aggressive. Well four years later I am preaching the "in with the new and out with the old" and totally feel like a hypocrite for my initial reactions. So am I the only one that has been transformed this drastically? Maybe chevy and their designers know me better than I know myself. So thank you to the changers out there from one that resists it way too often. OK, I feel a lot better now.

It may be be something you feel like has been adequately discussed at various times in the past, but new people are arriving all the time or perhaps moving to the C7 from earlier Corvette generations. It's a good thing to have new people adding to the discussion. Posting the "dead horse" emoji just because you participated in the same discussion months or years ago is a dead horse.
New arrivals to C7 have every right to share their opinions just like you did when you first joined.
Yes 17Z, I felt exactly the way you did initially about the C7 looks, particularly the rear, but now I love the look.

I've come around somewhat on the looks, but I have to admit I didn't like the looks of the C6 in 2005 until the Z06 came out. The widebody look was an immediate improvement. Same with the C7.
I've always loved the profile of the C7 and the new interior is outstanding. The front end isn't bad; it's a little oversculpted. I am still least impressed with the back. The taillights do nothing for me and that black valence cuts the rear end in half on lighter-colored cars.
I bought the GS mostly for the performance. On track days my modified C5 could barely keep up with stock Z51s, so I knew it was a time for an upgrade.

Pretty natural reaction to a change that could be called revolutionary (when the prior change was more evolutionary). I'll say this also - I suspect the initial "dislike" many have is a means of "justifying" (at least initially) the substantial costs associated with upgrading to the next generation. It's easier to say "I don't like it" vs. "I don't want to pay for it or can't afford it". Over time individual priorities usually rise to the surface (car in garage vs. money in bank).

I liked the C7 first time I saw it! As for the so called wide body, not a fan (didn't like the look on the C6 either). What I would change is the look of the exhaust system, NPP horns over power the look from the rear. Went with the standard exhaust, definitely less profound.

For me, I liked the C7 from the first time I saw one and mistook it for a Ferrari. The C6 almost brought me into the fold, but I just did not like the interior. The C7 revamp to the interior was almost as striking as the revamp to the exterior. Wish I had bought one earlier, but better late than never!

I was a big fan of the C6 with the exception of the front end, it just seemed rather blah to me.
The C7 is such a radical change, and a much more aggressive looking car. I think it's one of the best looking cars on the market.
I find the interior much improved, and never really had a big problem with the tail lights although I know, and can appreciate the fact, that many do.

I liked the C7 from day one.
The only thing I didn't like about recent vettes was the 4 exhaust pipes in the middle of the back instead of one/two pipes at each end. I have, however, come around and now like the 4 pipes in the middle, although I would still prefer 1 huge pipe at each end.

Never owned a Corvette before. I honestly did not love the C6. Just was not a fan of the headlights and overall shape of the car and found the interior to be a turnoff.
When the C7 came out I was able to sit in one and was blown away with the looks both inside and out. Waited a few years for the hype to die down, and grabbed mine.
I hope Chevy keeps evolving the Corvette. I say bring on mid engine!

I bought my C6 Grand Sport two weeks before GM unveiled the C7. I thought about waiting to see it, but decided to pull the trigger on the 2013 C6 and get the $10,000 off. For the next two years I hardly looked at a C7. Once the Z06 came out it got my attention. I'm now on my 2nd C7 and absolutely love the complete appearance, even the tail lights!
I recall when Chevy introduced the 1988 pick up truck. I will never forget laughing my *** off on the lot when I saw it. I've sinced owned about 5 of them. 2010 Camaro looked ugly too, but today they look fabulous. Given enough time, things start looking better and better.

Took me awhile to warm up to the look of the C7. But one test drive, one close up look and it was over, had to make the move.

^^^ That is another good point on the car selling itself. The interior is head and shoulders better than the C6.

I think that we all resist change...I resisted the C6 while owning a C5. I then resisted the C7 while owning a C6. Never did and still do not like the coupes but LOVE the drop tops look. The 7 has to be the best looking Corvette I've owned since my first in the early 1970's.

It was love at first sight just like the C5. The C6, not so much until the Z06 was unveiled. I love the continuous refinement/improvements car designers build into their new creations - change makes the world go 'round.

I too didn't initially care for the car, especially the cartoonish instrument panel. I'm not going to say "drastically transformed" but it's more of a "all cars are going this way" kind of a thing, and as time went by, I became more accustomed to the Camaro rear light styling.

I liked the C7 exterior from the first day I laid eyes on it. But, was in the same boat as you OP, on the interior and drive. I was happy with my C6, and after driving the C7 a few times, just didn't see that much benefit to upgrading. I have no idea what I was thinking back then. The C7 is SO much an enhanced / upgraded car than the C6 in just about every area, it's mind boggling.

I liked the C7 from the first time I saw it. New styling, great performance and an upgraded interior makes it a real winner.
