i have an A8 Z51 and i'm working on my 0-60 times but am maxed at 5.0. Do you guys (and ladies) with the automatic use the paddles? Should I be pumping the accelerator or just mash it and let the auto do it's work?
How are you counting the time? Are you counting out loud "one one-thousand, two one-thousand..." or "one Mississippi, two Mississippi?" I've found that I get more accurate 0-60 times when I use one-thousand.
no, i haven't. I need to read about how to execute it properly.

Launch control seems more effective in the A8 then the M7, which I have and I give LC 2 thumbs down. On the M7 I have found keeping the RPM's at about 2,000 then dropping the clutch, you cant just mash it as all you will do is spin wheels and invoke TC (traction control) so yeah some degree of feathering the pedal is needed. Best I have achieved is 4.1, probably only tried about a dozen times in 2+ years of owning.

I assumed that and also assumed that it would be the most accurate.
In an automatic, I can't see how you could possibly improve your times except with the launch. Don't use the paddles, let the transmission do it's thing and let the car's traction control system handle that for you as well. You'll make up time with a better launch.
And here again, unless you've got lots of time to practice and lots of money to spend on new rear tires, the computer launch will likely do better than you could on your own.

Warmer temperatures, not too much air pressure in your rear tires, good sticky asphalt, and go down a hill (jk).
