i already wrote a post in the german vette forum and got feedback that it's not only my butt, but that the seat heating in the C7 is not only slow (takes ages to warm up) but also doesn't heat very much.
C6 was way better and I only know warmer/hotter seat heatings from other cars.
is anybody aware of a possibility to improve this? maybe of a way to have the seat hating recalibrated? remember in my Porsche 964 back then, I could recalibrate the seat heating myself.
Yeah the seat heaters suck ***** in this car. My aunt has a brand new Buick and the seats get nice and toasty really fast. Heated seats are a must for me s they help my back while I am driving.
Common complaint - I understand its not necessarily a "luxury" car and is a sports car - but when my sons 8 year old honda civic seats work better I'm left thinking of all the "little" things that could have been improved. We are being conditioned to accept things as normal on these cars that no other manufacturer considers normal - from orange peel paint to your wheels click when you turn sharp is all "normal" - having said that - I wouldn't give her to none, quirks and all

Problem is the cooling added to the seat. To get air to circulate from the 3 small fans they have a ~3/8 inch layer of open mesh under the leather it sits between the seat heating elements and the leather. It does take time to get hot but in about 10 minutes I have to go from 3 to 1 bar. But it doesn't get the cold in SC, seldom drive below 5 C. Pics below from good video by Car & Driver. Compares C6 and C7 seats. C6 did not have cooling.
My 2009 Escalade had cooling seats also...bu the heated seats worked great and so did the vented seats. GM knows how to do it, they just fell short on the Corvette.
I've been wondering about this. I thought maybe I had defective heating elements because my C6's seats heated right up. I haven't tried this but I wonder if turning on the seat fans while the heater is on would blow warm air into the seats. Might be a moot point because by then the car is pretty well warmed up.
The heated seats kind of work but the cooling feature works really well. No more butt stuck to the vinyl seats like the throwback days. My advise, use more throttle and you'll forget all about the seats.
Just once I'd like to hear Tadge Juechter own up and ADMIT they fact GM screwed something up:
Something like this: " We know the seat heaters in the C7 suck, we knew about it before the car was released in late 2013, we know about it now, and we're not going to do a damn thing about it."

yea, I have a new car and tried the cooling the other day
it was a cool day but inside the car was warm
turned the fans on and it felt like ice water was running through the seats
Too bad you cant have the heaters and fans on at same time .. maybe that would work better.

Understanding the cause had me trying to do that 3 years ago. They can't operate together! Bet that would work.
Oh well, knowing what causes the problem, which for me in SC is only a ~10 minute delay in heating, at least lets me think about how good they will feel in the summer!
Similar to my workaround for tire chatter, "K" turns. When taking the extra effort I think about that high "g" force obtained on my favorite low traffic, wide grass field on the left, 270 degree exit ramp -when it's warm!
After Tadge discussed why they used spats on the Z06/Grand Sport versus making wider front fenders also makes me think what I considered a cheap add-on now looking fine for my Grand Sport on order! Form follows function!
I must have a sensitive tush heater seems fine. Not sure about cooling yet due to only having the Vette since Nov last year. The heated steering wheel on my Caddy was a nice surprise of how nice it is and could be OK to have on the Vette.

I agree the seat heater/coolers are on the weak side... not nearly as effective as in the Porsche I owned. Those seat heaters could fry a steak in 5 minutes! But the Vette's seat warmers are barely adequate for mild weather... the HVAC works great though!

Did the Porsche you had also have seat cooling or air circulation? There are larger seats in SUV's etc that do a better job and have both but the Vette seat is thin for clearance.
My C6 would heat your tail off but didn't have seat cooling.
