The reason I replaced my stock Z06 Iron rotors was the potential weight savings for the rears. As you can see, its substantial. I also wanted to get the AP front kit, but decided I would try the Giro Disc fronts as well. I can always upgrade later if I deemed these unsuitable.
I ordered my parts directly from the company and received great customer service. I told them I planned on running hoosier R7s and my preference for balance and bite, and they suggested Raybestos Racing ST43 pads front and rear.
The install is cake. Zero issues with fitment. For the rear, just remember to adjust the parking brake adjuster at the bottom of the drum setup to allow the hat to easily slide over the parking brake pads.
I did try to properly bed them in, observed good pad transfer, but full disclosure--it was 1am before my track event and I may have skimped here a little. As you will see, this may be the cause of some pad deposits I picked up at the track.
Subjective review:
Positives: Significant weight savings, quality construction, great brake feel and modulation, perfect bite, great front to rear balance.
Negatives: Interesting pads deposits. While these looked a bit odd, they did not alter feel, performance, or use in any way. After a few cold pad hard stops, most of the deposits have been removed. The guys at Giro Disc said that I might have heated the pads too quickly on bed-in, or might not have gotten enough transfer on bed in. They suggested cold hard stops, which removed the deposits.
Objective review:
I took 1st in my class. So I clearly wasn't being easy on the brakes. The car has plenty more in her, and I'm excited to turn it up. I considered this merely a shake down run, but the times were quick nonetheless.

I've been very pleased with the girodisc rotors and ST43 pads on my Z07. The initial bite was so much better than the CCBs! Very nice review! I too had similar deposits on my front rotors but I think mine may have been from coming off track immediately on a hot lap with no cool down lap to drop brake temps.
I have them too and am very impressed with the quality. I haven't been out on the track yet, but that's my intent. With the ST 43 pads they recommend, the bit is extreme.
Well, after about 8 events on these, I am very impressed. They are not yet 1/2 done, and the bite remains great. I've had no problem with overheating or abnormal pad deposition. There has been no fade. They are the longest lasting rotor I've ever used, and I've been through plenty in 8 years on a GT3.
I think the rears are 25 and the fronts are 23.4 as theblictures look switched the rears have a lighter grey center finish. That would put the weight savings at almost an even 15 for the girodisc rears which is what I thought and almost nil for the fronts

Yep, I've also measured 24.8 lbs for OEM rears and 23.5 for fronts.
