Stack ranking the existing colors
#22
And yet, a real black like a real red consistently ranks near the top of the production list, and never gets dropped as a result over all the generations. Various blues come and go. White C6s didn't exist for many years.

White only looks good on the C7... No other Corvette gen ever made, IMHO.
And the only reason, imho, is because it's the first to look the part of an exotic supercar. That and all the carbon flash vents that stand out beautifully on AW.
For the C6, I would only get black or dark grey of some variant. There is nothing to hide on the C6, so dark suits it well.
Which is why this is first white car I have ever owned, and likely the last barring a supercar purchase.

I still think Lime Rock Green was the nicest color on a C7, and it was the first one to go...

I know I am going to get it for this. Its not that I don't like white, but I do not see the appeal it has for most buyers. It always seems to rank near the top for the model year. Certainly choose what you like. White even more than black is SAFE. Not much imagination to it though. So in this era of neutrality you can fade in to the background after getting this truly amazing car.
I can hear it now about white not only not taking away from but even accentuating the beautiful shape of the corvette. Well it does contrast the black grills, chrome wheels, and colorful interior pretty well if you're interested in making that the focal point. But who wouldn't find this sea of white boring?

For me it is indeed the styling that makes the white pop. The C7 is the first Corvette that looks part exotic or super car. Growing up I remember posters with white Lambos which sort of said "I don't need a flashy color, I look like this".
BTW, this is why I wanted to do this stack ranking. Maybe white will come out as a polarizing color, meaning it is high or low but rarely in the middle. So keep contributing data if you haven't y'all. I promise I will do something with it if I get enough of it.

White comes and goes every couple of decades or so. Right now, it's hot, and at the peak of it's popularity. Every manufacturer is building a lot of white vehicles.
10-15 years ago, almost no one was offering a white car. Certain colors like red, black, and various shades of silver/grey never go out of style.

Ranking is too close to call for me. The Corvette is one of the few cars that looks good in all colors. However, there are some I would probably purchase and some I might not . . .
Purchase:
Torch Red, WGG, Admiral Blue, Black
Probably not for me:
White, Yellow, Silver, LBR, BRM

Well, only 12 people actually responded with a ranking. So stats on that aren't very meaningful. Anyway this is what I was trying to do. Here's the average rank of each color:
I pulled out three colors and showed how often it had each rank. For example, for Arctic White it was love it or hate it:
For Admiral Blue most people liked it, just not their first choice:
For Racing Yellow popularity was spread but then a huge spike of people who liked it least made it one of the least liked colors overall:
To preempt all the responses. Yes, this doesn't mean much with such a small sample. Yes, I am trying to survive the wait until my museum delivery. No, this doesn't mean you made a mistake with your color choice.
If more people respond with actual 1 to 10 rankings I can update the data and show graphs for each color. It's either that or can someone move up my TPW?
