Default C7 blackout taillights

Does anyone know where to get some sort of blackout taillight kit?

I like the ones from GScreations but don't want to spend that much? $379 seems excessive for some plastic covers.

I like how these black out the entire light rather than just tape on the white part that several vendors are offering.

Anyone know any venders offering a solution?

you can have a tint shop tint the taillights, or purchase a can of Rustoleum Tint Spray

^^That's totally misleading. Someone on here got those and they were just the flat pieces that cover the lights. Based on what he posted, I wouldn't waste my money on those.

Either tint them or bite the bullet and get the gscreations, I have them and really like the look.

Stay away from these Another forum member bought these and posted on here, and he was disappointed as was I. I thought for the price they were perfect, but what they send looks nothing like what is pictured.

I paid a local body shop $60 to tint my tails, reflectors and all my side markers. Granted he was probably cheaper than most, but it's definitely an option. We chose to leave the turn signals and reverse lights clear, just prefer that look.

Had a local guy who used to provide this service as a CF vendor here years ago do mine. He uses a gel coat that is heat cured and then polished to tint to the color and darkness you're looking for. I had him do my side and rear markers/reflectors as well. He did my C5 11 years ago and now my C7. Richard usually keeps a spare set or two around so you can just so an exchange if you don't want to wait. Price to do all lights all around is less than you would think.

What I'm not seeing in this thread (and maybe it's difficult to quantify) is does whatever you do to blackout the taillights, result in the taillights and brake lights not shining as brightly? Every time I come up on a car or truck (doesn't matter what it is) that has blacked out the taillights, they're noticeably dimmer in all lighting situations, particularly in bright sunlight, at dusk or dawn when the sun's low in the sky. You name it.

Just asking to get rear ended by some doofus who isn't paying attention. I want my taillights and brake lights to shine brightly.

Don't get me wrong: like the look. And I have an all black C7 convertible, wheels included and would love for the red tail lights to not be so noticeable, but I ain't touching them!

But it's your car, do what you want.

Seems bright enough to me...but I understand some cars with non LED bulbs who have so much tint that it really darkens the light output. However, I've stood behind a C7 with blacked out tail lights using 3m tint, and his lights still blinded me. YMMV

didn't realize they were falsely advertising...glad I didn't fall for it. Seemed like a good alternative the GS Creations....will likely end up getting them smoked at a body shop. I didn't like the fact that with GS Creations covers you can see the rectangular strip of adhesive at certain angles.

To do tails and all markers was considerably less than the GS units alone.
