Default Heated seat problem

The heated seats on my 2015 Z51 seems to have stopped working since I brought my car into the dealership to address a recall, has that been a problem with anyone else? If so how have you corrected the problem?

This appears to be a common complaint. While I seldom use my heated seats, which were never that great as far as heating, they don't seem to work as well after the update. I've read that a battery disconnect helps, but haven't done it myself.

Never had the update done yet but seats still have very marginal heating. Perhaps because if it is cold enough to need them it might be dangerous to drive with the SC2 tires and Chevrolet doesn't want anything like that to be encouraged.

The heated seats are bogus as far as I'm concerned, I'm just glad it is not just my car.

I did a hard reset of my battery and the heated seats improved, not sure why but they did.

Same problem here, but with my cooled seats...
How do you safely do a "hard battery reset"?

Just disconnect the negative post, wait about 1/2 hour, reconnect. After reconnecting let the car sit for about ten minutes (to power up all electronics) before starting the engine.

When you do this can I assume that all seat memory presets and radio stations are lost?

FWIW When I changed batteries this past summer, it was disconnected about an hour. I reset nothing! All settings were fine. Expected a window drop down on exit reset would be needed (easy to do read the Owner's Manual) but did not need it!

The reason it's not as good as the C6 is the added seat cooling. I'll explain.

To circulate the cabin air from the three small fans that provide "cooling" (they just push cabin air upward) they use a thick open mesh behind the leather. It sits above the heating elements and delays (and limits) heating. Mine takes ~10 minutes but I finally have to switch from 3 to 1 bar.

This is a good video that shows the thick mesh, heating and cooling elements as well as other seat characteristics.
