Engine temp for launch control
ive posted on this issue before here. I even called Chevy and went to the dealer. So far nobody has been able to shed some light on this. I have a 2014 z51 without magnetic ride control. I put the car in track mode and hit the traction control button twice and I'm not seeing competitive driving mode come up in the DIC and launch control is not working. The reason why I'm posting on this again is because last time I didn't ask if the temperature of the car has anything to do with the car not displaying competitive driving mode in the DIC. If the car isn't at full operating temperature will that prevent me from going into competitive driving mode? Also is that a standard feature on my car? I'm not sure because I bought it pre owned.

Good question! I would think all parimeters have to be met before the car's computer system will allow a maximum performance operation. Remember the tachometer repositions the red line based on operating temperature.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. You would think the corvette tech would have mentioned that. Then again this is the same corvette tech who said "what's competitive driving mode? I've never heard of that?" I asked if he was just a regular mechanic or a corvette tech because competitive driving mode has been around the corvette for over a decade. He was a "Corvette tech" so I don't have much confidence in him. I can tell you that's one Chevy dealer I will never return to
