Could he have lemoned it? Multiple attempts at a remedy and dealer refusing to do more?
No, I didn't qualify under Texas lemon law. The shudder didn't start until 9,300 miles and the 11th month of ownership. I didn't take it back the second time until after the 12th month. In Texas, you have to take it in twice for the same repair in the first 12 months of ownership.
I suggest the 2LT interior. The front camera system could be worth a lot of dollars if you misjudge a parking bumper block, not to mention all the other goodies. I am not into the GS, the cheap plastic fairing on the front fenders just don't enhance the car's look. Surprised how many people over look the front fender fairing (GM spokesperson fluffed over how the plastic fairing enhanced airflow evading the fact that it is cheaper than providing a real fender). Every time I see a GS can't get past the fairing.

I like and use the HUD in my C5 all the time, so that would be an item I would miss in a 1LT car. But, I like the looks of the GS over the Stingray, so of the two you mention, I'd go with the 1LT GS.
My 2009 and 2013 were both 3LT cars. My 2017 is a 1LT. I don't miss anything that 2 or 3LT provided. Stereo in my C7 is better than either of the ones in my 2009 or 2013. The C7 gauge package is so delightful I dont miss the HUD.
