I mentioned earlier I was considering getting out of my C7 and did it last night. Purchased a new 2017 Raptor. It is a better fit for my lifestyle, boating - fishing. I take delivery next week when it gets in. Magnetic grey and black interior.

You guys have been great and I have enjoyed reading the threads and educating myself on the C7.

And yes.....I took a bath on the C7 but I knew I would.

Good Luck and I'm sure you will get back in a Vette someday, it's such a fun car to drive!

That was quick. The Raptor is super cool. I might get one once the fever cools down. It sure won't be a Corvette replacement though.

OP. Congrats on the new truck. Glad it works for you.

on a side note can you explain what the cost was to get out of your car? This information usually helps other members who may want to do the same thing so they can get an idea before walking into a dealer. Thanks

Why do you not want to share the numbers and why the rush to delete your account? Would like to see some pics of your new ride too. Thanks!

If you traded-in you are not going to do well. We all know dealers do not offer great trade values, regardless of the make or model.

This. No matter what car you're trading, many dealers feel the need to demean it....Hmmmm, maybe this is why everyone hates dealers?

I was trading my wife's car in a few years ago, and literally walked off the lot because of this "put the customer on his heels" mentality of the dealer, treating me like he was doing ME a favor by even TAKING my wife's very nice USED car.
I told the guy: "Did it ever occur to you that you basically just called me an ******* for buying this car?" So, off I went, too many dealers to deal with someone like that.

ALOT of issues with this Gen 2 Raptor!

I have a Gen 1 2014 SCREW Raptor and its been absolutely perfect, hope you get a good one as Ford royally screwed the pooch on the new Raptor imho so far. My brothers will be delivered in May from his October 16 order.

Things to check for: Not a JOKE!
1. Correct plastic engine lid with "Ford Performance"
2. Excessive Rust and Corrosion
3. Oil pan gasket leak
4. Correct headlights
5. Coolant hoses tight
6. Moonroof Gasket

heres mine hope yours turns out to be a good one and Ford QC improves!

Hey Brett, while you're at it why not give him his expiration date? Jeez.

Yup, typical BS. When it comes time to negotiate with their potential buyers they paint an entirely different picture though. The C7 will be the in-demand sports car and they will highlight how well they keep their value.

I'm not selling my C7 for a few years, just venting about stealerships.

Good luck with new truck.

Nah man just trying to help a brother out as I have been watching and have been on the raptor forums for a long time(same name). I have owned two raptors a 2011 SCAB and my current daily 2014 SCREW pictured in my original post. I too boat and tow my 24' Yamaha 242LS and will be doing a back to back comparison on GEN1 and GEN2.

Dealers are adding anywhere from $5k to $30k ADM on these and alot have gone back multiple times for multiple issues. I decided to sell my 15 Camaro 1LE and order a Grand Sport instead of buying the new Raptor. I'm going to be keeping mine longer than expected just rolled 36k miles. Usually like to trade in once warranty is up or approaching.....

The new raptor flies on the street the rest is pretty unknown so far, I'm sure once the bugs get worked out it will be a great truck!

OP I know how it is, I can't live without a pickup. I'm fortunate to have both. If I could only have one it would be the truck as I use it for many of my other interests. Good luck with the new raptor, looks like a great truck. I personally can't do a raptor as the bed's to short to fit my wife's ATV and the towing capacity is compromised, I tow a lot. Still looks like the must fun you can have in a pickup.
