Default Extended protection plan

Anyone have experience with the Chevrolet protection plan? My 2016 Z06 has 32,000 miles and the warranty will be expiring. I am planning to keep this car for awhile. Several plans are available and cost somewhere between $3250 $5300. I can extend the plan for 48 months and 100,000 miles. The cost would be $5300 ,would mean I would not be able to modify the car,but I would be covered until 132,000 miles. I haven't had any trouble with the car but I know some things could be fairly expensive to fix if they do go. Does anyone have any experience of large repair costs that would have been covered if they had an extended warranty? Should I just keep the $5300 as a hedge fund or spend it on this warranty? That is the question. Thanks for any advice.

Do a search on this forum for GMEPP warranty. You will find pages of posts about this subject. I would probably get an extended warranty if I was going to keep my car longer than the power train warranty. To replace the A8 will costs 6K not including labor. I have already had my torque converter replaced.

Search for Ken Fichtner, I have a Z51 but it should be way, way lower than those numbers.

OP, the only extended warranty, i.e. insurance plan, I would buy is the GM backed GMEPP. Shop around, prices vary greatly. I bought mine from Black Cadillac in Ebensburg PA. Their prices were very competitive. Everything done over the phone and email and no sales tax. The prices you quote seem very high compared to what I paid but I purchased mine immediately after delivery.

Yep, Ken Fitchner at Denny Menholt Chevrolet saved me a ton of money. Give them a call before you pay those quoted prices.

I have one on my C7, and had one on my C6. As Randall said, only by the GM backed plan. We were a long way from home (Albuquerque, NM) when the C6 went down. The Chevy dealer there jumped on the car, used the extended GM warranty to pay for everything, and we were on our way again. EZPZ.

You can make pretty many repairs for $5,300. Get a price on a new 2018, remember the warranty is all new. You can factor the cost of warranty into the money out on the trade.

I purchased the extended warranty and the wheel and tire warranty when I bought the car new. I haven't had any issues yet, but since I plan to keep the car for a long time, it gave me piece of mind.

Just like what color and equipment to get, an extended warranty is a personal decision. I hope you enjoy your new ride!
