Z51 split spokes on a Stingray
I'm curious if putting the 19/20's of the z51 option onto the base stingray would negatively affect the ride, assuming they fit. Considering the differences in suspension setup between the base and option package, is it advisable or not a big deal?

That's what all 2018 Stingrays are going to have on them standard. Won't hurt a thing and will look better than the smaller 18/19 setup. Go for it.

The ride will still be softer than a Z51, and yes of course they will fit.
About as no big deal as it gets.

My '14 Coupe was a non Z51 (18"/19") and I later found a set of OEM Z51 wheels. I opted to go with the Michelin AS3's (Non Runflat) tires. Actually rode better than the 18"/19" standard set up. However, with the Z51 Standard Runflats the ride would be somewhat harsher.

2015 had the available ZF1 appearance package which gave you the Z51 wheel/tire combo on the base Stingray,
so you won't have any problems size wise...

No, the base wheels are low pressure cast, and the Z51 wheels are forged.
Or, at least GM is calling them forged. Although we don't know for sure, my guess is that they are true forged monoblocks, done cheaply.
This is still better than flow-formed as those are low pressure cast faces with flow formed barrels. It's basically still a pressure cast wheel, just better than a full pressure cast wheel.

Maybe rotary forged?

could be but I don't know. I'm looking for the lightest strongest wheel without having to shell out $4K to $5k. The Z51 wheel may they are forged. West Coast Corvette has them for $3k. Have to be careful with all the cast 'replicas' available.

You can find a nice used set of take offs for WAY less than 3 grand. Just watch the classifieds here.

Just order from the right place. I wouldn't be worried about getting knockoffs.

Are the OEM base wheels at least as good quality as any of the replicas? Aren't all of the OEM wheels made outside the US? China? Mexico?

They are all (OEM, reps) made overseas in a place you wouldn't like to hear, the only difference is the QA/QC GM has put into place versus the lacking or lack there of from the reps.
I've done a ton of research on wheels over many years, and there are few replicas I would ever put on my car.

ever or never. Thanks for the info. Im thinking about buying a set of base chrome takeoffs from House of Wheels. Hoping the chrome quality is decent.

Ever.
Personally, I would ensure that they meet and are stamped with at least TUV or JWL, or even VIA standards.
