iPhone connections
My wife and I got new phones and when they paired up to the car they were both labeled "iphone".
Anyone know how to change the "label" ?

I actually change my iPhone name on my phone itself for my wife and I for this very reason. And not just for my car, but her car too.

Thanks! I learn something new every day here.
Between my wife and I, we have 4 iPhones since each of us have personal and work phones. This will end our guessing game about which one is connected.

Thill444 is correct. Car used the name configured on the phone itself.
My phone is named AJs-SE, GFs phone is Debs-4s, and thats how they show up when connected to the C7 (in both phone and media mode).

Yep, works like a charm!
Changed all 4 phone names last night, and all of our vehicles now display the different names exactly as entered on the phones.

For all you know about the car's electronics, I'm surprised you didn't know about this.

LOL . . . yep, that one slipped between the cracks. I'm pretty familiar with the iPhone settings menu, but it just never occurred to me to look under "General" and "About" to rename my phone.

Now, that I knew.
My daughter has also taught me all kinds of stuff. Even my FIL taught me a new one last weekend, but it was because he couldn't figure out why we weren't receiving his texts. Instead of tapping the arrow (send) button, he was holding it down. That takes you to a whole new sub-menu offering different ways of sending your texts. Check it out.

Yeah, you just say "Hey Siri," handsfree. It was in an Apple commercial with Jerry Seinfeld when that feature came out.
They're trying to keep up with "Alexa."

I think thats the other way around. Siri was the first.
Alexa, Google, Cortana, et al followed.
GF heard me do the hey Siri and send a text hands free (on a 4s) ...she immediately said hey, I want a phone that can do that!

You missed the point.
Yes, Siri was first, but many believe others have passed her by. That's what I meant by "trying to keep up with Alexa," when they added the hands-free "Hey Siri" feature recently.

Yer right. I was looking strictly at age.
I've had hey Siri for at least a couple years.
Alexa I've only had for a couple months.
And I now understand the comparative review I read stating Siri is deaf and Alexa is stupid.
Alexas favorite response to me is "Hmmm - I can't find the answer to that"

First thing I look for when I get a new toy is how to rename it.
I've been renaming phones since before I even had iPhones. What annoys me is when you can't rename the car so on Bluetooth you see a bunch of stuff.
Since I work at Ford my work cell phone has about 25 "Sync" profiles. I never know which one belongs to which test car unless I'm in said car.
